Events list David Swallow's sundance, so that may be who his teacher is. Swallow's been back and forth, early on an exploiter selling to whites, then agreeing to the Declaration, and now this again.

Ceremony selling in Mexico and Britain. Diaz is obviously who hosts him in MX, not sure about Britain.

He also has an alleged ghost dance, but I'm sure none of the whites are told the dance is to pray for whites to go away.

This is one of his followers, a flake operating a Nuage dome bed and breakfast.

There is a photo on their The Singing Stone Facebook page of women and children in a sweat lodge. One of the little girls looks way too overheated.

His full name is Christopher Michael Long, according to Colorado state incorporation records for Oniyan Wakan Tipi. It was a nonprofit, dissolved July 2013 (incorporated April 2011). Colorado business searches can be done here http://www.sos.state.co.us/biz/BusinessEntityCriteriaExt.do?resetTransTyp=Y Don't know if Long has another company incorporated now.

The following ad turned up on the local message board today:

"Traditional lineage Lakota Sweat lodges with Chris and Andrea Long from Colorado , USA.
Thursday July 7th - Mena Dan Women together evening time , in a beautiful wild setting near Glastonbury.
Thursday JUly13th - Women's Lodge"

Has anyone heard of these people?
Many thanks.

Merged this request with two older threads about them when they used different organization names.

Sally, the short answer is Chris claims to do Lakota ceremony and claims ancestry from entirely different tribes. Andrea is a white pagan exploiter doing obviously fake ceremonies.

Both are ceremony sellers, pay to pray.

Moved to Frauds.

Just stumbled upon The Singing Stone website and came to search your website to see what was said.  When I got to the steps in the various ceremonies, it was very clear that this was not someone that truly followed traditional teachings:

d) Sun Dance.
?1st level attending and supporting the Sun Dance.
?2nd support for 4 years and assist the sun dance camp with help in various ways or
?3rd to support in the kitchen and or tend the fire and help with formal duties for 4 years or to learn the songs and sing on the drum for 4 years.
?4th after completing roles of support and or from a vision or prompt from a medicine person making the formal commitment to dance for 4 years.
?5th to gather supplies and medicines, going on vision quest, and then Sun dancing.
?6th Completing your 4 years of dancing.
?7th Becoming a dance leader under the direction of the Chief Spiritual Adviser and helping with official leadership roles of the Sun Dance for 4 years.
?8th being specifically trained to be a sun dance chief by the Chief Spiritual Adviser or recognized medicine person and sun dance chief.
?9th Being officially ordained by the Chief Spiritual Adviser and Sun Dance Chief, being in good standing with the community and then being A Sun Dance Chief.

As a Native American Church we are registered with the D.E.A.

I don't believe this is true. Both of these NACs look to be fraudulent. I don't see any sign of them going to court and winning a  Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) exemption. Nor do I see signs of them applying to the DEA for an exemption.

If either of these groups had an exemption, the public would know about it, the exemption process is researched and studied by experts in the related fields.

If they had an exemption, they could not just do whatever with their drugs:

Quote
Once a group has obtained a religious freedom exemption for their entheogenic sacrament, they don’t have the liberty to use it freely any way they want to. Their sacrament is overseen by the DEA’s Office of Diversion Control. This is the department of the DEA that oversees doctors, pharmacies, and pharmaceutical companies that import, process, manufacture and/or distribute controlled substances. Just as pharmacies are responsible for keeping records of all drugs like oxycontin that have a demand on the black market — how much comes in and how much goes out, on what dates, how many doses are distributed to how many people, etc. — the legal ayahuasca churches are required to keep records of how much ayahuasca was received, how many people drank how much ayahuasca on which dates, etc., and keep those records for the government to inspect.

http://www.bialabate.net/news/the-religious-freedom-restoration-act-the-dea-exemption-process-and-ayahuasca-healings

These two groups are not legitimate NACs (which are only about a specific peyote religion). They are not legitimate ayahuasca churches, which are churches only about specific ayahuasca religions.

Of Choctaw descent, he freely shares his understanding of Indigenous American Ceremonies and way of life to those drawn to the Red Road. Receiving a vision at an early age, Christopher learned practical skills from his Grandfather in Oklahoma from a Native American perspective.

Christopher has been ordained in Traditional Ceremonies of the Lakota lineage from many spiritual teachers including Tekpankalli, Harold Whitehorse, Raven Wolf and many others.

Christopher Michael Long's father is Michael Glyn Long. Michael Glyn Long was born in 1938 in Great Britain. He petitioned for US citizenship in 1988 (source ancestry.com). He is said to be of Welsh descent.

As Christopher Long posted recently on his Facebook, his father wrote a book for Berlitz on Navajo language.

The book "was to facilitate communication between the priests and their Navajo parishioners, with the ultimate goal to preach the Gospel to them in their own language.".
