What I can see is that he offers "tantric healing", based on practices that seek to raise the powerful kundalini energy. I do wonder what her credentials are in this respect. In any case, this is the tantra of tantra = sex variety, which has nothing to do with tantra as it is practised in India, or in vajrayana buddhism.

Here's his facebook page

http://www.facebook.com/healingmagic

I notice on his website that he says he does not offer yoni or lingam massage (genital massage).  This may be true.

He talks about "white tantra" which, in my understanding, is associated with Yogi Bhajan of 3ho / School of Kundalini Yoga notoriety.

The "white tantra" practices by Bhajan's followers is non-sexual, or more accurately does not involve sex between different people*.  If he is a 3ho er then he may be truthful about his massages not including yoni or lingam massage.

However his facebook page has friends who are tantric masseuses who do offer such services so it is hard to tell, especially as he does not provide any information re lineage.

More information re 3ho here

http://www.rickross.com/groups/3ho.html

* at least officially

My concerns here would be in the combination of vision quests / shamanism (involving drugs?) and the massage (some powerful drugs can be administered in this way).  Also he has travelled in Africa  - or so he claims.  If he is interested in experimenting with entheogens there are unique drugs there that he could have accessed in Africa, drugs that are used in initiation ceremonies and that can be profoundly healing and therapeutic, but that can also be used to manipulate and otherwise abuse people.

There is not enough info that I can see to be sure, also I'm very tired and will be going to bed in a moment but I will either post of PM (probably the latter) something tomorrow if I can think of anything helpful.

Just took another look at his website

One thing I notice with interest is that, even though he claims to be a yoga instructor, there are no photos of him in any impressive or challenging asanas, which is unusual as these are typically what appears on most yoga instructors websites.  There is a photo of his yoga training partner Marya Bradley maintaining an asana, but none of Voigt himself and I find that suspect and unusual.

last night I was very tired and did not check out his tantric workshops properly

Just had a proper look and found this

http://www.awomanstouchonline.com/store.php?prodID=22332&catID=4090

Where he is referred to as Peter Ross

Here is a link to one of his tantric workshops

 http://www.healingmagic.net/workshop_PR_V-Day.htm

Where there is  the following text:

Quote
There will be no public nudity and while we will be discussing it,  we will not be demonstrating or publicly practicing the more intimate forms of Tantric Massage (Yoni & Lingham massage).

Which seems to suggest that the restrictions on yoni / lingam massage (a typical component of neo-tantric / pseudo tantric massage) are in place only during the public part of the workshop.  It may be that participants are invited to, er, practice in private, or it may be one of those situations where there is a difference between the claims on the  official advertisements and what is actually offered in reality.

This is clearly the same person on a different website

http://www.tantricmassage.net/workshop_PR.htm

He refers to himself as "Peter Ross V"

This page interests me
http://www.tantricmassage.net/new_therapists.htm

as here he has introduced 2 female tantric masseuses including "Nikki" about whom he says

Quote
Although she is young, Nikki will surprise you with her experienced touch and Tantric skills. She is a healer and has an amazing ability to work with energy to help you to clear your blockages and balance your  energy. Being Asian, she believes that she was born with the ability to give a great massage. Her clients all agree.

What concerns me about this, apart from the racist subtext, is that Nikki's face is blurred (although not very well) in a manner typical of sex workers. I do not understand why she would want to obscure her face if she was just a masseuse of the non-sexual variety.

Via this link
http://www.tantricmassage.net/what_is_tantric_massage.htm?My+Massage=

Voigt explains his tantric massages in some detail.  He say that these are not sexual massages (but then all tantric masseuses say that).  Specifically he says

Quote
The reason that the Tantric Arts are gaining such popularity in our culture recently is due to one of the more pleasurable side affects. When the Kundalini is awakened, or drawn out, it also awakens the sexual energy in the body. The Kundalini is different and distinct from the sexual energy, but the two are connected & intertwined. So as the Kundalini is awakened and drawn out of hibernation, so also is the sexual energy in the body. Along with the Kundalini, it is channeled and circulated throughout the entire body. Needless to say, this can be very pleasurable, but it is important to keep in mind that this is only a side effect, secondary to the healing power of the Kundalini.

To me this reads like a variation of the typical tantric massage proviso that goes something like "you may reach an orgasm during the massage and that is OK but it is not the main focus of the massage as this is not a sexual service".

One important thing to understand IMO is that, even without the administration of psychoactive drugs via massage, some types of massage can be profoundly arousing and people can find themselves in quite a vulnerable state where they may consent to sexual contact that they otherwise would not consent to.  I suppose I am saying that people can get taken advantage of in this way.

Re his lineage, he states that he trained at Yogaville

This is not an organisation I am very familiar with but there is a page about them on the Rick Ross website here http://www.rickross.com/groups/yogaville.html

I had another look at his myspace page this morning and while he does have some 3hoers as friends he also has lots of people involved in Tantra from other schools, some of which I am completely unfamiliar with.

I have to get some work done so will have to go now but will see what else I can find later.

Good research, Nemesis. http://www.tantricmassage.net/new_therapists.htm is disturbing.

"Maria is a Latina with strong, soft hands. She has the experience and the touch to give a world class Tantric Massage."

Why is the ethnicity, youth and attractiveness of the women relevant? If they're so "world class" why don't they have an office? Not even a corner in a yoga studio when no classes are going on.... They don't use the stock prostitution phrase, "outcalls only", but that's the situation they describe: Pick a pretty young woman from an ad (here are their pictures!) and she will come to your home and...

ETA: Spoke too soon. They are using sex ad jargon: http://www.tantricmassage.net/book.htm
"At this point, we offer out-calls only," "4-hand Massage (1 client) w/2 therapists  (female/female)     $250  Total"

dear forum,
the name Peter Ross Voigt, especially "Voigt", is an indication for a
German people. Or a people with German ancestors

voigt is a form of "vogt". A vogt was an executive person in the middle
Age in Germany.

The commercial selling of massage I see very critically.

The mixture of massage and sexual practizising get massage by healing
to a suspect.

Massage have no tradition by the German-language countries.

They was imported from asia.

In fact, massage of any system can be good of health.

But never it ist traditional of Turtle Island or pagan religions.

greetings
fredvoss

Hi Fred. If I read your intro correctly, you are German. I'd appreciate it if you didn't generalize so broadly about what is traditional for the people of "Turtle Island", or even all "pagan religions". We're talking about many, many diverse cultures covered by those words.

We have plenty of people here on the forum who are indigenous to Turtle Island who can speak to what is and isn't traditional for their people. Thanks.

More pages by Voigt along with some of the "dakinis" he works with.

Ching has been working with Peter for over 3 yrs and has reached a certain level of mastery. She will be offering the exact massage that you will be learning during this retreat. It is healing, energizing, slightly sensual, but not sexual.

Ching will offer 3 sessions:  1) Early in the day on Thursday, March 26 - for those arriving early; 2) at some point during the day or eve on Saturday or Sunday;  3) Afternoon/eve on Monday March 30 - for those staying an extra day.

Book a session with Ching - $125.00      Thurs 3/26                     Sat/Sun                     Mon  3/30

This is something completely different that will blow you away!

Another form of Tantric massage, this is not exactly the one you will be learning, but it is truly AMAZING, and definitely worth experiencing! Nuit has vast experience in Tantra and massage. Her treatments are very rich and soulful, but also very exciting and sensual. At her studio in New York City, Nuit normally receives $300 - $400 for one session. Here in Jamaica, she does not worry about money, so she is offering a very special price to make her work accessible to all. To learn more about Nuit and her work click here.

Nuit will offer 4 sessions: 1) Early in the day on Thursday, March 26 - for those arriving early; 2)  Day or eve on Saturday; 3) Day or eve on Sunday; 4) Afternoon/eve on Monday March 30 - for those staying an extra day.

Book a session with Nuit - $200.00      Thurs 3/26             Sat 3/28            Sun 3/29            Mon  3/30

More about Ching and Nuit, who also work with Voigt in the US, here

http://tantricmassage.net/yogaville.htm

I found the website for "Nuit" here http://www.priestessofnu.com/welcome.html and, from the quote from Liber Al (Crowley's "Book of the Law") it would appear that she is a Thelemite

I really do object to his misuse of the term tantra. In the Tibetan context, the majority of tantric practice is done in a monastic, i.e. celibate setting by solitary practitioners. Although there are prescriptions for practice with an actual partner, it is widely stated by teachers, including the Dalai Lama, that this kind of practice is so advanced that no one practicing today is engaged in it, including himself.

Thank you Lodro

I have a friend who is a Buddhist and who practices tantra by painting beautiful pictures, nothing sexual about it.

There is a massive and rapidly growing industry involved in the supply of so called tantric massage (usually a sexual service masquerading as some form of body energy therapy).

There are a number of different schools of tantra that offer workshops and training in a range of sexual subjects.  Some of these schools appear to be highly dubious, some are clearly criminal networks involved in sexual exploitation and human trafficking. Some may simply be collectives of nuage people who genuinely believe that they are healing people by giving them erotic massages.

I have a number of serious concerns about this situation.  Even where so called "tantric healers" are not - at least as far as I can discern - part of an organised criminal network, I think it is extremely concerning that so many of them advertise genital massage as a way of healing trauma from rape and sexual abuse.

Sometimes it feels like the world has gone mad

I just noticed that Ross Voigt's http://www.tantricmassage.net/ website is one of very few non-MISA links on a MISA owned tantric massage / newage brothel website.

I don't really want to advertise the MISA site here but I just wanted to make a note of this for the record.  I am not sure what it means but it does not reflect well on Ross Voigt IMO
