Jeremy Gordon is a Sundance Chief and Yuwipi medicine man with 32 years experience in the Lakota tradition and founder of the Native American Church of Quetzalcoatl . He was adopted and taught by some of the most well known medicine men in Lakota territory including the recently passed Leonard Crow Dog (Lakota Sun Dance Chief of Chiefs), Joseph Bad Moccasin "Joe Bad" (Lakota Dakota Sun Dance Chief and Heyoka), and Jim Wolf, a medicine man from the Yukon Territory who started teaching Jeremy around 1989. Since being trained by these men, Jeremy has been running his own Sundance (Sundance Quetzalcoatl) for 12 years in Mexico, alongside Vision Quests in Mexico, Chile, United States, Italy, and this summer in the UK. He will also begin a Sundance in Italy this summer.

--------
Pretty obvious these are for white tourists, not local NDNs. Queztalcoatl is the deity for Nahuas/Aztecs. His name is Kukulkan for Mayas. And they do not Sundance or have Vision Quests.

They also sell ceremony in Mexico at https://www.daishizen.org/. And sell and mix it with akido, yoga, and Chinese medicine, all peddled to tourists. Moved to Frauds.

His name is Jeremy Dewayne Gordon. Born 1971 in Virginia.

He is running a fake Native American Church scam: https://www.facebook.com/chiefjeremy/posts/-membership-renewal-new-cards-native-american-church-of-quetzalc%C3%B3atl-we-are-now-/10231377963140935/

Gleanings from his Facebook page:

"Technically, I'm a Scottish-American" ( He claims he is indigenous because of Highlander heritage)
----------

"For my part, I work only with Hikuri, a sacred medicine"

(Hikuri/Lophophora williamsii is a small, spineless cactus containing psychedelic mescaline)

----------------

He refers to himself as "Fear an Dà Shealladh" which Google Translate identifies as Scottish Gaelic for "The Man of Two Visions".

----------

He uses AI generated images for his event notices and sales pitches for his fake church operation.

--------

"For 17 years now, my Marakame Otákame Rogelio has walked with me and guided me on the path of the Blue Deer — Kayumari. When we began, we were young men full of fire and learning; now, without realizing it, we have become the elders.
He has shared with me the traditional stories and teachings of his village, led my pilgrimages into Wirikuta, and carried out ceremonies for me on my mountain in San Cristóbal — as well as in many places around the world alongside me.
Five years ago, he entrusted me with the Blue Deer altar, and for these five years I have carried those stories, songs, and medicines forward to the people. Through his guidance, I was also able to support him to become a Sundancer, a Pipe Carrier, and a Marakame walking the Red Road with us."

----------

More of his b.s. claims about what membership in his fake church will supposedly get you:

"We can provide documents for:
• Sacred medicines (traditional plants, animal parts, minerals and natural elements)
• Sacred feathers and ceremonial tools
• Spiritual objects such as feather fans, ceremonial pipes, drums, skins and traditional regalia
• Recognition of participation in sacred ceremonies and practices
• Letters of religious exemption (vaccines, schools or work situations)
• Documentation that can support your lawyer in matters related to your spiritual rights
• Travel letters to carry traditional medicines, feathers and ceremonial objects
• Confirmation letters for ceremonial leaders, healers and traditional artisans
• Personalized documentation according to the needs of your spiritual path"

----------
Jeremy Gordon is very active and travels quite frequently. Where does his money come from?

I've not yet seen public mention of cost to his customers, he directs everyone to private message.

So far this looks to be a slick new age drug tourism operation.

Sandy S

I uploaded two images here from Jeremy Gordon's Facebook to demonstrate his evolving branding. He also posts AI generated images of himself in tartan with supposed Huichol type spiritual tools and imagery.

He, like so many, puts diverse traditions into a new age blender, and then uses the result for profit.

I read all this as him trying to excuse and deny cultural theft. For instance he claims that Scottish clan chiefs wear eagle feathers freely. Easily implied is that he should then be allowed to do so here in USA, even though we have different laws.

Jeremy Gordon claims Scottish heritage, specifically from the Highlands. He makes a huge deal out of this as evident in the tartan wrapped poses he strikes, his verbose poetic claims to being spiritually Scottish special, and his frequent travel for profit.

He focuses on his paternal surname Gordon and his maternal surname Thompson. Which really means next to nothing in regards to claiming specialness. I've looked into his genealogy. His Scottish ancestry is quite a few generations back. Might not even include Highlands, and even if it did, so what?

Sandy S

His Gordon and Thompson ancestors are said to have emigrated from Scotland and England in the mid 1600s. That is then quite a few generations here in USA.

He uses the title "Chief Jeremy" including in his martial arts practice.

He has a chest tat of Quetzalcoatl.

He actively sells ceremony all over the world. He knows to be publicly discreet about money.

He says he and a partner used to sell "boatloads" of amber in the past. Maybe people know him from the amber trade.

He conducts drug sales through his Facebook page. Advertises publicly then take orders in private. CBD isolate, psilocybin, salvia divinorum etc. Some of this he directly advertises, some is implied.

And he rips off artists.

Gleaned from Facebook, I don't usually post social media links because things often disappear.

QuoteJeremy Gordon is not the first nor last plastic shaman. Turn over a shit-stained rock and you'll find the likes of Gordon squirming underneath it. But, the shake-and-bake appropriation doesn't end there. Gordon produces colorful posters to advertise his sundances and ceremonies. In this recent poster for an April 24, 2024 sundance ceremony, he has obviously violated the intellectual property of Oscar Howe. Note that he slyly has cropped out Howe's signature which, in the original, is located in the lower right corner of the painting.  Gordon operates outside the U.S. He holds his ceremonies in Mexico, South America, and Western Europe. Apparently, he feels safe from copyright infringement. I wonder how the Howe estate would react to Gordon's infringement and if they have any legal recourse to take against Gordon.

Learn about the artist Oscar Howe here: https://www.keloland.com/keloland-com-original/native-artist-oscar-howe-didnt-conform-to-indian-art/

Uploaded here is how Jeremy Gordon used the painting, by clipping off Oscar Howe's signature.

Sandy S

Jeremy Dewayne Gordon is a rude and grandiose guy.

He claims that he is "waking the old places". How rude, to be at a location such as a standing stones circle in the U.K., perform new age rituals, and declare that he is activating a sacred site.

Why are his people bringing their pet dogs to these locations?

He preaches that everything is the same. According to him, Sundances and May Poles are the same. "The Highland Two-Sighted and the Yuwipi Man" are the same.

He makes grandiose claims about his supposed spiritual powers.

Here is his sales pitch about being extra special: https://www.facebook.com/chiefjeremy/posts/pfbid02XfZuCHJBeSLAvdqFNBYRSta5muVRsSSytpMKWu77LiaFJM3HULRqTvwFEd9bcC1Al?rdid=8RI3LN7HbU1vRux6#

He is "The Seer Returned".

"My great-great-grandparents fled those persecutions, escaping the fires of Scotland's witch trials and finding refuge in the isolated ridges of the Appalachian Mountains, where my family took root."

Great great grandparents, that is 16 people. And hey, the reality is that they were all born in Virginia. Where they lived may not have even been all that isolated. They are counted in census, many had obituaries published in newspapers, several of them were described as "well known".

Jeremy Dewayne Gordon is a cultural appropriating colonizer.

For outsiders or newcomers, his version of ceremony is not even remotely close to actual vision quests. It is not for adults and certainly not crowds of them and certainly not crowds of naive whites who paid huge amounts of money and who do not know any better how phony it all is.

The other post shows Gordon ripping off a Native artist depicting a Sundance. Which leads me to wonder if Gordon is doing his fake version of a Sundance, which could be incredibly dangerous. A person could easily be permanently scarred, lose use of limbs, or even die shock or asphyxiation if the ceremony was done by someone untrained or poorly trained.
