LOL, that meme sure has gotten a lot of mileage over the past month!

The Racialicious blog has a commentary piece that includes a compilation of some of the other videos: http://www.racialicious.com/2012/01/19/exploring-the-problematic-and-subversive-shit-people-say-meme-ology/.

I saw a couple more on this theme, about Native stereotypes:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czhMcI9EPDc    "How good are your Indian tracking skills? I lost my phone last week."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVTJ-LMO_rI    "Hey, what's your, like, spirit animal?"

I had no idea it was so widespread. The "value" of the Native American one, though, compared to the vast majority of the other ones, is that it is not accusing any particular group of saying sh*t to Native Americans -- so the speakers could be white, black, latino, gay, straight, etc., or even a person of Native American blood who is disconnected from their culture. FYI we are working on one, Sh*t people say to Native Hawaiians. Stay tuned!
