I wonder if I've been changed in the night? Let me think. Was I the same when I got up this morning? I almost think I can remember feeling a little different. But if I'm not the same, the next question is 'Who in the world am I?' Ah, that's the great puzzle!

Also, the purpose of this board is to provide a resource for fighting cultural misappropriation/exploitation, and a place where we can work together on these efforts. It's not a chatty/social board, and we're not here just to "grill" random anonymous people.

Sorry I have a college degree. I've been a member of N.O.W. for about 20 years. I have lobbyed for women's rights....warrantless arrest....stalking laws in my state. I recognize injustice when I see it, and that was the main reason this site interested me. But, the few interactions I have had so far have lead me to believe that there are some extremely judgmental people here.
Is that part of your walk? Not mine.

Welcome:  Please understand this is not just a local spit and argue club but one with serious objectives.  Understand this.   Of late we have been the butt of some not so kind comments.  Some have also  even tried to shut us down thankfully they did not succeed.  Note also that this is a multicultural site not just an American Indian one.  We have everything from atheist and pagans to ordained Christian Elders who believe that to adulterate cultural customs and ceremony is wrong and even  dangerous to the participants.   For the most part we all get along because we keep our focus tight on frauds and research.  By banding together like we do we increase our impact exponentially.  We have an excellent set of mods who brook no interference with our main goals.  Step out of line you will be corrected.   When you got the reaction that you did you did not have knowledge of just what we have been through just in the last few weeks.  Right now our sensitivity is on war footing.  Read and become knowledgeable  patience and respect will go a long way.  Ask for guidance and understanding we just may know.  As a NA you will understand  that this is a part of our culture.  We have been bitten too much by new ones coming in full bore one must prove themselves that is just the way it is now..  Offered with respect  I am   "LittleOldMan

No, I not being judgemental, I said you were acting like one. I seen enough sock puppets and trolls in the last few months to last me a life time. I figured I would get an answer or not. I did. And Thank you for that.  All we require is someone willing to help. You have the experience.  And I can't top LOM, he says things so well. So if your are interested, again welcome.
