Comedy Channel / Nick Revell: BrokenDreamCatcher — Clash of the Hipster Shamans

"Nick Revell has done for magic realism what Austin Powers did for James Bond." The Times

Nick is comfortably one of the best comic storytellers in the UK. An easy claim to make, but one backed up by years of successful touring and sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe.

BrokenDreamCatcher is a series of contemporary comic tales that could almost be true. Anything can happen - and it probably will - when this master storyteller combines comedy with magic realism.

In this episode, the coincidental opening of two 'shaman shops' in north London leads to previously undreamed of events unfolding at the Nag's Head crossroads in Holloway. Unlikely as it might seem, Hollywood A-lister Gwyneth Paltrow gets involved - she reveals her visceral dislike of Taylor Swift, a secret passion for 1970s Rugby League and asks to borrow Nick's kettle .... but can they find the dream catcher repairman's business card in time?

These are outlandish stories told with energy, wit and intelligence served with both a smile and a barb. They are illustrated and supported by an original soundtrack written and performed by Paul Clark of London's Clod Ensemble.

Written and performed by Nick Revell
Original music: Paul Clark
Producer: Steve Doherty
A Giddy Goat production for BBC Radio 4

Do these people really qualify to be discussed in this forum? I cannot see they are frauds in any way?

Also, absolutely nothing about shamans or shamanism in any of all the pages and posts I could find.

3ndless 3arth 3covillage has a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/3ndless3arth3covillage

Cooperative Meeting at Rail Road Flat Community Hall Saturday, September 12, 2020

During our first Summit in July 2020 we discussed 3 important topics that are all interconnected and create a resilient community in the Sierra Foothills. We focused on Forest Restoration & Fire Prevention, Biodynamic Farming Practices, and Creating a Cooperative in the Foothills to support each other.

This meeting we will gather specifically to create a working cooperative model for the community to bring down our collective costs while providing goods and services to one another as efficiently and conveniently as possible.

We will begin by going over a rough draft framework of a working cooperative that Keith James, Eric Stalberg, and Hillary Solsbery have written that can be implemented in our community regardless of the product or service you are buying or selling.

My bolding. These are probably the three persons depicted more than once on the website.

I cannot see any claims of Native American connections, except the building of a "Sioux Tipi", where construction details abound on the Internet, e.g. https://www.telli.com/page/siouxtipi. There must be many thousands built out there.

Do these people really qualify to be discussed in this forum? I cannot see they are frauds in any way?

What We’ve Achieved
Clearing 5+ acres of trash, burnt trees, brush, piping, grow bags, and plastic in the valley from an old cannabis operation that was abandoned.

Organizing our community in Calaveras County with Ecstatic Dances at the Rail Road Flat Community Hall once a month.

We have built an outhouse for composting toilets, a 22’ diameter Sioux Tipi from our own burnt cedar trees, a half acre farm with an 80’ long shade house, an outdoor kitchen space with gas stove and plumbing, a serene beach on Jesus Maria Creek, and a 9’x7’ Cob Chicken Coop for our 15 hens with an extended chicken run.

Hosted a community Summit in July 2020 gathering like minds to create a cooperative in the Foothills.

Donate our time to other community members working on their lands.

Etcetera / Nonhumans/Aliens Relationships
« Last post by kitekite on August 27, 2020, 04:03:15 pm »
Hi all, I am an Oglala artist and student and I am trying to write about Native relationships with the paranormal, especially extra-terrestrial nonhumans. I have gone through the forums and found different people with varying amounts of woo woo non serious/fraud-y vibes.

I have a feeling this is like a spectrum, where we are very serious about our spiritual relationships, and it's possible to have those relationships with nonhumans, but then some beliefs cross a line?

One thing I keep coming across when Indians tell UFO stories is how matter of fact the storytelling is. If you experience something, you experienced it, period. If you didn't, ok fine.

Anyway, if you have any opinions about this, let me know, if you have heard a good story or good rumor, also super interested. If you have a LOT of opinions about this I'd love to interview you. Philimayaye! hope you are all in good health.

"Sjaman Dureks oldemor født på Sagene — Slektsforskere har nå funnet ut av de norske familiebåndene til prinsesse Märtha Louises nye kjæreste, Durek Verrett. – Han er en åttendedel norsk, sier Elin Galtung Lihaug."

"Shaman Durek's great-grandmother born at Sagene [in Oslo, Norway] — Genealogists have now found the Norwegian family ties of Princess Märta Louise's new boyfriend. - He is one eighth Norwegian, says Elin Galting Lihaug."

Apologizing for my typo in the translation bit. The genealogist's correct name is Elin Galtung Lihaug.

Now for his ancestry, especially the alleged Norwegian part of it. It's quite confusing. A few links:

http://royalmusingsblogspotcom.blogspot.com/2019/05/princess-martha-louise-announces-she-is.html

https://en.theprincessandtheshaman.com/
"Shaman Durek is half Norwegian, but has never been in Norway before, and Princess Märtha Louise invited him to join her to share his wisdom with the people of the North."

https://www.f-b.no/kultur-underholdning/gamlebyen/gamlebyen-kulturhus/m-rthas-nye-kjareste-mormor-er-fra-fredrikstad/s/5-
"I en video på Instagram forteller den amerikanske sjamanen Durek Verrett at hans mormor er født i Fredrikstad …"
Translation:
"In an Instagram video the American shaman Durek Verrett relates that his mother's mother was born in Fredrikstad [Norway] …"

https://www.abcnyheter.no/nyheter/norge/2019/05/23/195580285/sjaman-dureks-oldemor-fodt-pa-sagene
"Sjaman Dureks oldemor født på Sagene — Slektsforskere har nå funnet ut av de norske familiebåndene til prinsesse Märtha Louises nye kjæreste, Durek Verrett. – Han er en åttendedel norsk, sier Elin Galtung Lihaug."
Translation:
"Shaman Durek's great-grandmother born at Sagene [in Oslo, Norway] — Genealogists have now found the Norwegian family ties of Princess Märta Louise's new boyfriend. - He is one eighth Norwegian, says Elin Galting Lihaug."

So from one half to one fourth to one eighth Norwegian in a few days. The last article points to a long genealogical discussion (ten pages on my screen), started by the above named genealogist:

https://forum.arkivverket.no/topic/233904-durek-david-verrett-%E2%80%93-norske-aner-p%C3%A5-morssiden/
"Durek David Verrett – norske aner på morssiden?"
Translation: "Durek David Verrett - Norwegian ancestry on his mother's side?"

However, the conclusion (at page 10 on my screen) of that long and intricate discussion so far is this:

Quote
in other words, and as Neil is stating: For all practical purposes, Oscar Farmer must be assumed to be the grandfather. This is obviously the most likely candidate, at least in the absence of any other evidence.

it may simply mean that the family history later on conflated the "step grand-father" and the "real" grand-father, and this may be where the supposed Norwegian ancestry came in. So although there may not be any biological links to Norway, it may still have contributed to the family lore.

My bolding. This conclusion (no Norwegian ancestry) is supported by much evidence on the preceding pages.
