Introduction and Questions about Ira Miller and Martin Highbear

Hi All:

Twenty years ago I knew a guy who said he had been the driver for Martin Highbear. I met this guy, Ira, about 2 or 3 years after Martin died. He and some other people were doing sweats and putting people on vision quest. This was around Portland, Oregon. As far as I could tell, Ira was following the sweat traditions of the Lakota Sioux. At least he said he was. Ira was a white man, not Lakota. Does of any of this ring any bells with anyone? Also, I would like to talk to anyone on this forum who has experienced any predatory sexual behavior around the sweats, vision quests or sun dances.  Thanks, Elizabeth.
