I think I saw a post on Nafps regarding this, but can't find it now and the search
doesn't bring it up.

The page owner of this FB page emailed me saying "great new page!" I looked
and responded telling him I didn't believe his page was legit and perpetuates
misappropriation of Native culture. He responded and I quote directly:
"Most natives seem to like it. They say the page shows great pride and thank me."

Tell me what you all think..

This is what he likes to post, and he's been sending it around a bit..

"Great new page!

Learn how to make indigenous recipes, heal with native remedies, make traditional clothing and regalia, or study up on ancient rites and prophecies."

Study up on ancient rites?

This FB page is very active. Some authentic stuff, mixed with obviously fake AI posts, links to other fake pages and also links to regular news items.

There must be hundreds if not thousands of "indigenous" FB pages like this.

Is it possible to list them and warn against them?

I moved the topic. Let us list any and all FB pages, esp. those filled with ridiculous stereotypical AI slop, falsely claiming to be Native.

If the page is run by someone non-Native who simply has an interest in the culture or issues, they should not be listed. But commercial pages esp. there to promote a business selling knockoffs of Natives arts and crafts certainly belongs on this list.
