Jane Thundering Rain Woman and Simon Blue Wolf will be joined by Tate, a Lakota Medicine Man who comes to share his Teachings and Sacred Pipe Ceremony.

At Mount Samson's Lyell Deer Farm, surrounded by the peace and tranquility of Nature, the day will include

Talking Circles with Tate, Jane and Simon

Lodge preparation activities

Tate will then lead us in the Sacred Pipe Ceremony.

Post Lodge Talking Circle and a shared meal.

Chanting, drumming and talking circles are all part of the day's events. Used in ceremony and for celebration, the songs, rhythms and stories help stir the tribal memory and activate healing for ourselves, the Earth and All Our Relations.

Jane, Thundering Rain Woman is a Native American trained Lodge Pourer. She
completed an 8 year traditional apprenticeship and has lead Medicine Ceremonies and taught on four continents around the world.

Simon Blue Wolf trained as Fire Keeper and in Lodge Ceremony with a Native American Medicine circle from the US and whilst touring In South Africa and in the UK.

Tate was brought up by his Grandmother in the Lakota traditions and like other well known Medicine People lives his life in a way that is consistent with the Lakota saying "Mitakyue Oyasin???...We are All Related.

I heard of Tate (Wind). Somebody was telling me about a Plastiman with the same name as my roping horse. She said nothing good. I'll ask her again about him.

The Medicine Wheel

Taught and led by: Tate' (Lakota teacher)

As with any other ancient wisdom, the medicine wheel has no written record. It has remained a part of daily rituals and ceremonies dating back 45,000 years to the early stone age, and is now being revealed by its keepers -- the Indigenous people. The concepts contained in this central teaching are always presented as a circle, or in the shape of a wheel.
Mastering the knowledge attached to it requires a lifetime of effort and practice. Although its four paths are always followed in the sunwise (clockwise) direction, one may start from anywhere on the medicine wheel. Specific traits and gifts are taught by each of the four cardinal directions through symbolic references to the natural world. When one considers the qualities of animal, plant, elemental, and vibrational aspects in each direction, this enables a pathway for personal growth and healing. The pathways also lead us in the four directions or four aspects of the self -- spiritual, emotional, physical, and mental. Specific references to vibrational colors and animal associations vary widely, so each person's interpretation of the deep meanings becomes a personal journey of self-discovery and spiritual connection to the divine consciousness that is a part of all things.
