This newly made film which will premiere here in Sweden on the 19th August. It´s a Norwegian film about the Sami Rebellion in 1852, when the Samis decided to do something about the opression. This leads to one of the most dramatic episodes in northern Scandinavian history, lots of Samis are killed or sentenced.

The director Nils Gaup, Sami and a descendent of an executed rebel , wanted the world to know what happened. Up till now there has been nothing but silence about this riot. (Not surprisingly....)

I am really honoured to have been invited to the premiere by the Samis. And I will definitely urge everyone to see this film! It is extremely important! I keep my fingers crossed for the film making it round the world. Because all the world should know, not only us here in Scandinavia.
