Research Group

Has anyone ever suggested of forming research teams?
It could be a very effective way to cover a lot of territory.
For instance perhaps having some that would do lab work so to speak such as researching on cyberspace,
then another group could do field work, making calls, getting people on record on what they say on a subject. Just a couple examples.
I thought maybe something like this would help bring together the research in a effective way that would not look like the subject is straying off and could be benificial to all in the group here.
Just a thought....
