I'm Kerry Hawk Lessard. I'm Shawnee. My husband is Ron Lessard, Mohawk/Abenaki. Ron used to act as Leonard Peltier's DC lobbyist and is still active in AI rights issues. We're traditional and trying to stay connected with like-minded folks in the community, particularly in our Baltimore/DC metro area. I appreciate the help and advice this board offers. When I figure that so many of our relatives fought and died to protect these ways, it feels victimizing all over again to have the same people who beat our grandmas for being Indian to then want to out-Indian the Indian. It makes me beyond angry.
