HI all -

Chief Glenna Wallace of the Eastern Band took the opportunity of their recent vist to Newark to tell the folks here that the mounds were indeed built by Shawnee ancestors, and to demand that the Golf Club relocate from the ceremonial complex they are currently using for their golf course.

For some reason the local newspaper did not cover this story.
I guess they did not think it was important.

It was also interesting to hear the local archaeologists concede for the first time that the ceremonial complexes here were built by Shawnee ancestors.
