I'm just introducing myself.  I'm here to tell my story of getting sucked in by one of these frauds and to educate myself.  I don't think it will happen again to me, but I bump into a fair number of people who are in danger of buying into the lies of these manipulators.  So it seems best to know a little more about the subject than just my personal take.  I'm white as the day is long and I've long since stopped making any claim to having any training by native folks.  But it seems to me that having real cultural respect involves knowing where the other people's POV is about, not just avoiding them all together.  So here I am.  Sorry, but I don't want to post more personal details about myself for safety reasons.
