Protest against Brazil’s dam threat to tribes

9:00AM Wednesday, March 2nd

http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/event.php?eid=199057896787430

A demonstration will be held outside the Brazilian development bank’s offices in central London, in protest at the numerous dam projects now threatening indigenous people.

For example, the Belo Monte dam would cause huge devastation to the ecosystems and rainforest upon which many Xingu River Indians depend for their survival. The Indians have not given their consent for the project to go ahead.

Brazil’s indigenous peoples have been protesting with urgency. This is your chance to join the global outcry against the dams.

We will meet at 9am outside the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES), 1 Cornhill, London, EC3V 3ND (opposite Bank of England, right next to Bank tube station).
