Rachel Attituq Qitsualik was born into a traditional Igloolik Inuit lifestyle. She has worked in Inuit sociopolitical issues for the last 25 years, and witnessed the full transition of her culture into the modern world. She is a columnist for Indian Country Today.

It looks like Inuit elders strategy was the right one. Less than 200 hits online for a search on Inuint shamanism, and most of those from universities, museums, newspaper stories. I found a couple role playing games, but none of the usual exploiters.

Another article that is still worthy of reading even after 14 years. My browser gives me a security risk warning when clicking the original link. I found the article elsewhere:

My Google search for "Inuit shamanism" in the first place yielded about 23,900 hits. I looked at the first 100, and then there was only one page more, which said about 124 total hits. Somewhat strange. Anyhow, they were similar in character to those found 14 years ago. I couldn't see any exploiters or New Age stuff, fortunately.
