Another Newager Dawn Star
« on: August 22, 2006, 07:59:35 pm »
I was recently in a local shop and found a leaflet about another Newage group from Glastonbury, home of a lot of newageripoffers who proudly boast of their annual camp that sadly has just ended.
But they advertise their annual medicine camp on ceremonial land that offers healing ceremonies, sweat lodges, medicine teachings, vision quests, heart centred song drumming all for the price of £310 (about $500) per family.
I visited their web site http://www.dawnstar.org.uk/home.htm which doesn't tell a great deal.
One interesting point I noted was
You must NOT bring:
Dogs or other animals
Petrol/diesel powered generators
Music systems/’ghetto-blasters’
But didn't say not to bring alcohol or recreational drugs to the so called 'ceremonial land'
At the moment that leaves 51 weeks before they start the next rip off session.

Don't you mean "teaching plants"?

I've seen flyers for "Sue Moon Dragon" in my neck of the woods too. That kind of hippie "medicine camp" crap is the logical conclusion of the process started by the likes of Sun Bear a couple of decades ago. I estimate that there are dozens of little organisations, and hundreds of individuals, selling (cough) I mean *sharing* "Native American spirituality" around the UK.
