Wilkes is primarily a language instructor but he gives quite a few talks on Cherokee culture.

http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/112140/brian_wilkes.html

http://www.myspace.com/brianwilkesmedia

As you can see, some of his beliefs and interest might be described as eccentric, weight loss advice, calling himself an honorary colonel.

He mentions being a minister and active in the NAC. I don't know how that could be checked out in Kentucky, where he is.

His discussion of 2012 strikes me as his own interpretation, influenced by those who see (or more often, want to see) 2012 as some kind of great change. But as far as I know, the Mayan themselves don't actually see it that way. Their calendar simply ends in 2012.

Some of the other things he claims strike me as unproven, things either he or a publisher might seek to claim in order to promote a book.

"As a professional in the mental health field, I see the analysis Mr. Wilkes offers as a very valuable tool, especially for those interested in working with and comprehending Archetypes in their healing process.
The education possessed and applied to the readings transcends typical personality chart analysis. Because of the skills exemplified in the development, the individual will find some aspects of the definitions to be staggeringly correct and spot-on in their applications.
I fully recommend a review of this very special assessment as a means for thorough personal introspection."

Wilkes claims to be the “Chief” of the “Hawk Band of the American Cherokee Confederacy” ..

Source: http://www.sheeley.org/econ/booklet99.html
(EtheraCon ’99 Program Booklet .. EtheraCon is about as nuage as you can get, lots of questionable stuff)
Excerpt, bio: “Brian Wilkes has been chief of the Hawk Band of the American Cherokee Confederacy since 1995, and is editor of "Cherokee Voice". Wilkes has dedicated himself to rebuilding a sense of community among the scattered Cherokee descendants in the Northeast, to restoring connections with Native people of Latin America, and to addressing issues of historical accuracy and ethnic stereotyping in the media and schools. Given the name Yona Gadoga (Standing Bear), Wilkes also teaches the Cherokee language.”

[chief in 1995? ..
source: http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/p/a/n/Donald-N-Pantheryates/GENE9-0124.html
oddly enough I also found this reference to someone else being elected “chief” of the “hawk band of the american Cherokee confederacy” in 1995 .. someone named Donald Neal Yates .. “He was elected Chief of the Hawk Band of the American Cherokee Confederacy in 1995” .. guess they had two “chiefs”? ..  other “facts listed about this “chief”
“More About DONALD NEAL YATES:
Comment 1: Indian name Panther
Ethnicity/Relig.: Halfblood Choctaw-Cherokee, member of Georgia Tribe of Eastern Cherokee
Ethnicity/Religion: Thunderbird Clan; Indian name: Panther
Fact: 1996, Adopted with family into Tehah Nahma Nation, sponsor Chief Two White Feathers
Occupation: College teacher, writer, public relations
Residence: South Bend, Ind.; Princeton, N.J.;Hohenwald, Tenn.; Statesboro, Ga.”]

Excerpt, another bio:
“Brian Standing Bear Wilkes, Yona Gadoga (Cherokee / Creek)
Drawing on 20 years in journalism, Brian Wilkes is known for incisive
works that go straight to the heart of the subject matter. He has taught
poetry at Middlesex County Community College, and currently holds regular classes in the Cherokee language in Morris County. As chief of the Hawk Band of the American Cherokee Confederacy and editor of CHEROKEE VOICE, Standing Bear's duty is to restore a sense of community among the scattered Cherokee groups of the Northeast. Wilkes lives in Flanders, NJ. He will read in Cherokee, Lenape and English.”

Why is his language website “private”? .. cannot enter unless you give an email address and your name .. then he will email you with “confirmation” and allow you to enter his site .. .. strange?

Got this email about him.

----------
I came across your web site by accident, and saw reference to Brian Wilkes aka Standing bear.. I knew Wilkes when he lived in New Jersey. When I first meet him he was claiming a priestly Jewish alliance through his first marriage and blood ties to Scottish royalty- clan.  Shortly before he left NJ, he turned Native American, claiming all sorts of honors bestowed upon him..He had offered to help me become "condoled" into Hawk band Cherokee nation. I refused as my heritage (long ago) was Mohawk/Seneca.

I take it he is still actively milking this line? Kind of hard to believe a 6'5" red headed, pale face (like me) a chief...

Regards,

June

That links at FindNewHope.com shows Wilkes ties to Mooney's fake imitation of the NAC. Wilkes calls himself a minister at that church.

---------
http://www.findnewhope.com/NAC/about.htm
Brian Wilkes of Kentucky serves as Principle Stone Carrier for the chapter. He take the lead on training and teaching, and responsibility for the Sacred Bundles, bundle ceremonies, and the "bundles" of knowledge...

---------

Interesting how his hair and skin color have changed. Obviously hair dye, not sure if he uses tanning makeup or of that's just lighting. The photo of him with the 28 Grandfathers shows him with flaming red hair and very pale skin.

The Nemenhah page shows him to be a recruiter and trainer for them.

And get this, he also claims to be both a "Baron" and a "Knight Grand Commander"!

This Chief acts under the direction of the EPMC to head up the work of forming new Chapters and the training of Chapter Leaders in the duties of their callings. He maintains and updates a Manual for such training. The Chapter Councils make offering to him directly for these services. He is authorized to form and administrate a fund to fulfill the purposes of his calling, and he may appoint assistants.

The Order of St. Anna is an Orthodox Chivalric organization known as a "House Order" under the protection and leadership of Their Graces, Count Andrew and Countess Anna Mospak. Their Graces have the full support and blessings of The Holy Archdiocese for the Diaspora in America as well as the support and fraternal blessings of numerous chivalric bodies. Their Graces hold numerous Letters-Patent and honors from numerous Princes.

The primary purpose of the Order is supplemental support for orphans both in Ukraine and in the United States as well as other worthy charity. The Order of St. Anna issues donations to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The Bishops personally oversee the distribution of funds and provide not just corporal but spiritual care.

Continuing the traditions and rights of the ancient and all Holy Orthodox Church, the Order of St. Anna continues to invest worthy men and women with Knighthood and Noble Title. The purpose of elevating is not one that is taken lightly, and not create a class structure. Rather, through our outward appearance and actions we display to the world our beliefs and morals. We show the world Christ in action. We feed the hungry, cloth the naked, educate the ignorant and humble ourselves.

May the Lord God bless us and guide us that we can always be mindful that only through and by His Grace can we achieve peace throughout the world.

Have been told Brian Wilkes a few yrs back had a DNA test returned negative, and made a public statement he is non-native (have yet to find that posting from him on the net) , thou when one looks at the Charades this guy pulls, it is prety much a given he grabs a piece of this culture, that culture, and tucks those attributes in his phoney pouch trying to hold an identity , dependent on his needs at the time, from family of Dracula, to Baron/Royality , to ONAC freaks, to samurai tea healer, to ambassador from Kentucky to Arab states, this guy is a one stop fits all for "cultural appropriation" , MomFeather taught him well, browse his fb site photo's to get a glimpse of this yoyo! , https://www.facebook.com/findnewhope?sk=photos

without reservation, as much insult as this cat projects, yellow pus fits well.

Bishop Daniel Clay Mystical Rose youtubes:

http://www.orderofthemysticalrose.org/
about:
"We are invigorated by the Rule of Benedict."
"The Benedictine way is the systematic application of the Christian way."

NOTE: about the Rule of St. Benedict: , more than half the chapters describe how to be obedient and humble, and what to do when a member of the community is not. These teachings can easily be correlated to Residential Schooling indoctrination.

a interesting blog entry which expresses issues for the likes of Bishop Daniel Clay's and his youtube video's, and the likes of Mooney, Wilkes, etc .... (i.e shake and bake at its finest)

"Quanah Parker is generally recognized as the “founder” of what has become the Native American Church – a belief system that incorporates the use of peyote as a healing agent and a vehicle that enables the user to experience visions, empower themselves, and seek guidance.

As peyote contains hallucinogenic properties it was a given that over time it would attract those seeking merely to get “high”, also a given that the ceremonies themselves would become corrupted and the trappings of the new agers such as crystals would insinuate themselves, accompanied by a cobbled together provenance of being the real deal.

It isn’t a uncommon now to find new agers frequenting such ceremonies and terms like “minister” being applied to those who conduct them, the transition from an indigenous healing and spiritual ritual into a commercial venture is in  full swing as the schism between tradition and pretense increases.

I’ve seen adds on the net where a person need only to send twenty five dollars to be “ordained” a minister in some bogus church, I suspect a great many of  the practicing NAC “ministers” and “medicine persons” are little different.

Another toll of the bell sounding an alarm about the corruption of indigenous ceremonies from the southern most tip of this hemisphere to the northern most.

There may come a time when such “ministers” will seek to broadcast their “services” either on the net or via cable much the same as televangelists do, perhaps they will ask for “love donations” and preach in lieu of a “prosperity doctrine” a peyote doctrine that advises one need only lay their hands on the screen or monitor to be healed-send your prayer requests, distance being a non hindrance.

Sounds too outlandish to consider? What is occurring today would have been deemed likewise a few decades ago."

Today I am applying for adoption to Nemenhah, and going to work on my BA after core is done with University of Nemenhah. It is an accredited University.....I am so excited! Finally a clear path is laid before me. I will be ordained and instructed in wedding, naming, send offs and sooo much more. Then with Dez Spirit-Walker Rutherford and one more whom Creator will send we will be starting a Chapter of the Native American Church(NAC). The NAC is a constitutionally recognized organization so no 501c3 is needed. I want to thank Brian Wilkes for his time in answering all our questions as we vetted the process and organization.

in closing, Wilkes is now declaring  himself a "pipe maker" , someone might want to touch base with some of the guys at PipeStone to see if anything has been sent out to Wilks, understanding his mentality and world views, it would not be surprising for Brian to stamp his name along with his four rivers onto other people's work. That's a given ....

Did this research a few years ago when the subject of tsalagi being a gender specific language (it's not).  The links are not included because they no longer work.   This was a reply to someone in a group who was promoting this Brian Wilkes.

William G. Gray (1913-1992) was an English occultist, the founder of the magical order the Sangreal Sodalityand author of many books. He wrote extensively on the topics of ritual magic. Before he crossed he named his successors. Marcia being one. WHO IS THIS YOU ASK? She was one of his two successors. WHO IS SHE YOU ASK? She wrote books on Psychic Abilities. WHAT DOES SHE HAVE TO DO WITH BRIAN WILKES YOU ASK? She mentions him in the introduction of her book.

If anyone decides to open the link, click on the arrow to the right of the page that comes up, it will take you to the last page of the introduction, where she tells of Brian sharing some methods to improve her psychic ability. So lets recap:  (link no longer working)

W. Gray, Master Occultist passes on, leaves behind two successors, one being Marcia L. Pickands, an admitted occultist and magic practitioner, who hangs out with Brian Wilkes, duo Chief of the Hawk Band of the American Cherokee Confederacy, television personality, who also writes books (some with his gf), who spends his time traipsing around Turtle Island, visiting the Elders, and learning all their 'secrets'. Oh, almost forgot: Cherokee Language Savior, and self designated Colonel.

Wilkes is now an instructor of Nemenhah's phony university.
http://www.newagefraud.org/smf/index.php?topic=1898.msg45091#msg45091

And he claims to be three new nobility titles. That's on top of his previous claims to be a "knight commander," asst to a "grand master," and "self designated colonel" and chief of a would be Cherokee heritage group. You can't make this up.

I have been honored with a position in the court of HIRH Prince Gharios al-Numan, the last remaining Christian Arab dynasty. The internationally recognized government in exile is dedicated to the promotion and support of Christian Arab culture and community.

A white hypnotherapist in rural Illinois claiming to be a Cherokee chief and a count, viscount, and baron. Problem is (besides the phony Cherokee claim)....

The Ghassans haven't had a kingdom since the year 634, and not even anyone claiming to be part of the dynasty since 1734. That "prince" is a Brazilian with dubious claims.

Galicia's been gone since 1569, part of Poland now. Borayn doesn't even show up online except in Wilkes's links.

Grand Principality of Transylvania ended in 1868. It's part of Hungary. Fa get-Temesköz also only shows up online only in Wilkes's links. (The F name keeps getting auto corrected since it's also a mispelled epithet for gays.)

Do all the Nemenhah just stand around figurng out how to give themselves ridiculous titles, easily debunked?

Moved to Frauds, and should have been moved there almost from the start.
