Meet Jake Angeli, the Trump supporter who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday with his face painted, bare-bodied and wearing a fur headdress with black buffalo horns.

Angeli is a 33-year-old QAnon supporter, who was spotted last year at various right-wing political rallies in Arizona. Last February, he protested outside the Arizona State Capitol during a pro-Trump rally with a sign that read, “Q Sent Me.”

Arizona Republic reported Angeli was shouting, “You all know who Q is?” and explained to passersby that Q “was a government agent who wanted to ‘take the country back’ from pedophiles and globalists.”

In his other life, he wants to be an actor, does voice over, and touts his public speaking skills.

After appearing in numerous photographs taken at the Capitol on Wednesday, a number of people on Native social media pages speculated whether Angeli might be Indigenous. Many wanted to know who he was and where he was from, and some were relieved to know he is not Native, despite his fur-clad outfit.

Memes were quickly shared on social media after Jake Angeli appeared in a number of photos depicting rioters at the U.S. Capitol.

Some found Angeli’s costume, not to be confused with regalia, humorous. Photos of Angeli produced humorous memes on social media, similar to Election Day night last November when CNN referred to Native Americans as “something else” in an exit-poll segment.

Well, Angeli is not Native American, but it can be said he is “something else.” Angeli, who clearly trespassed when he entered the Senate chamber, made his way to the speaker’s desk.

Amid the chaos on Wednesday, Angeli told a Globe and Mail reporter that police eventually gave up trying to stop him and other Trump supporters who breached the Capitol. After some time passed, police “politely” asked Angeli to leave and let him go free.

A MAGA rioter who broke into the Senate chamber calls himself the "Q Shaman" while claiming he can fight pedos in other "dimensions."

Jake Angeli, 32, was pictured wearing a horned fur hat as he stormed the US Capitol building yesterday.

Jake Angeli, who stormed the US Capitol yesterday, claims he can visit 'higher dimensions' where 'pedos and rapists hide in the shadows'

Angeli says he is trying to expose a wealthy pedophile cult controlling the world.

He was seen shouting as he stood on top of the lectern in the Senate chamber amid chaotic scenes which rocked American democracy.

Now, a filmed interview has emerged of the tattooed oddball who has gained a following spouting QAnon conspiracy theories online.

QAnon followers believe, without any evidence, that Donald Trump is trying to stop a wealthy pedophile cult controlled by banking elites and members of the Democratic Party.

In the interview, filmed at an event in Arizona last year, Angeli explained his supposed powers.

He said: "As a shaman, I am like a multi-dimensional or hyper dimensional being, ok."

The 32-year-old, who previously identified as a singer and actor, claims he is able to "see into these other higher dimensions that these entities - these pedophiles, these rapists, these really high up people…

…that they almost hide in the shadows in."

Angeli was one of hundreds of people to break through the police barricade yesterday

He added: "And most people can't see that because the third eye ain't open."

Among his bonkers claims, he said the world elites have underground bases where they are developing "anti-gravity technology" and "infinite energy."

In the 10 minute rant, in which his views are never questioned, he also said the elites, including the "banking cartels", are involved in "cloning and all sorts of crazy stuff" and want to create a "one world government."

He said Trump is like the "good cop in this global organisation" who is personally responsible for the arrests of Harvey Weinstein and the leaking of Hillary Clinton's campaign emails.

After watching the clip, one social media user wrote: "His brain is like a conspiracy theory playlist that has been set to random."

Angeli was one of hundreds of people to break through the police barricade and storm the Capitol building as lawmakers met to certify the results of November's election.

And as the rioters broke into the building, the violence escalated.

4 DEAD & bombs found all around building after siege

One woman who was shot by police and later died in hospital.

Washington DC Police also confirmed that another three people died from "medical emergencies" but no further details have yet been provided.

Another Trump fan was injured after falling from a balcony at the Capitol.

https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-supporters-falsely-claim-a-far-right-activist-at-the-us-capitol-is-actually-a-liberal-2021-1
Jake Angeli, an infamous far-right activist from Arizona, was pictured as part of the mob that assaulted the US Capitol on Wednesday.
On social media, other far-right activists tried to claim he was actually a liberal or part of "Antifa."
They did so by posting a photo of him at a Black Lives Matter protest in Tempe, Arizona, neglecting the fact that he was counter-protesting.
Visit Business Insider's homepage for more stories.

Jake Angeli is a far-right activist who loves Donald Trump and appearing in public without a shirt and posing as a viking.

On far-right social media, however, the man from Arizona -- pictured with a mob of Trump supporters at the US Capitol on Wednesday -- is being falsely portrayed as a supporter of a Black Lives Matter, a movement he opposes, as part of a conspiracy theory, stoked by at least one Fox News anchor, that blames the violence in Washington on anti-fascists.

"Paid actor and was at the BLM march in Arizona last year," one man claimed on Twitter.

"This 'patriot' led the way in the DC Riot," claimed the administrator of a far-right Facebook group in New Mexico.

"This guy is from Arizona. Here is a photo I took of him at the Temple BLM march in June," another woman tweeted, quoting a left-wing Arizona activist, her post retweeted some 18,000 times and receiving over 27,000 likes.

Angeli was indeed at a Black Lives Matter protest. The problem for far-right conspiracy theorists is that he was there to protest the protest. Indeed, he is a crank himself.

As the Arizona Republic reported, the 32-year-old Angeli is "a QAnon supporter who has been a fixture at Arizona right-wing political rallies over the past year." Back home, he is a fixture at the Arizona State Capitol building, "shouting about various conspiracy theories."

As Insider's Rachel E. Greenspan noted earlier in the day, that dedication has earned him the moniker, "Q Shaman." Antifa he is not.

The episode could be dismissed with a laugh, had the broader claim — that Antifa was responsible rather than the president's own supporters — not already being introduced into mainstream discourse by members of Congress, such as Rep. Matt Gaetz, who was applauded by House Republicans for his conspiratorial deflection.

Kate Starbird, an expert on disinformation at the University of Washington, explained what's coming on the far right: "They'll ask their followers to ignore what they saw with their own eyes (and some of what they experienced and perpetrated themselves)... and believe another alternative reality."

https://wildhunt.org/2021/01/heathens-respond-to-q-shaman-and-norse-imagery-in-capitol-riot.html
Yesterday, a rally in support of U.S. President Donald Trump’s baseless claims of election fraud turned into a violent and chaotic insurrection. A group of far-right Trump loyalists attacked and breached the Capitol building in a puerile but violent effort to stop Congress from certifying the results of the 2020 presidential election, which was won by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Of the many rioters photographed during the assault on the Capitol, one in particular caught the eye of the Heathen community – a face-painted, shirtless man, wearing furs and a horned helmet, carrying a spear, and covered in tattoos related to Viking and Norse imagery.

The man, Jake Angeli, sometimes referred to as the “QAnon Shaman,” appeared in dozens of photographs shared by national and social media.

Angeli, whose legal name is Jacob Chansley, 32, is a QAnon supporter from Phoenix, Arizona, who has been active in far-right circles in the past year, appearing in his face-paint and horns at many rallies in support of Trump and QAnon. In 2019 he appeared, in similar costume, at a rally demanding action on climate change at the Arizona state capitol.

Despite some claims on social media that Angeli is affiliated with the Black Lives Matter movement or Antifa, Reuters notes that Angeli has a detailed history of involvement with Trump rallies and the QAnon movement.

On Angeli’s now-closed Facebook page, he shared a variety of QAnon-related conspiracy theories, including claims that a cabal of Satanic pedophiles had infiltrated the U.S. government and was acting in opposition to President Trump. One post included a video that claimed to expose “the way that Communism is tied to Satanism & black magick spell” (sic).

Angeli’s Facebook profile also contained a mishmash of memes, images, and quotes that seemed to indicate support for multiple religious expressions. Some involved Pagan imagery, but many were affirmations of Christianity and devotion to Jesus. The phrases “God Wins” and “Jesus Amen” were frequent elements of his posts.

He also described himself as “a shamanic practitioner and energetic healer. I have been on the shamanic path for over a decade and have numerous different capabilities and gifts at my disposal.”

Until shortly after the riot at the U.S. Capitol, Angeli maintained a profile on Backstage, an advertising website for actors and entertainers. In the now-deleted page, he described himself as an actor, voiceover artist, and singer, “capable of performing over 30 different voices and numerous different accents.”

He also claimed to be “very skilled at embodying characters.”

Despite the mostly-Christian nature of his posts, Angeli is clearly aware of modern Heathenry. One Facebook post contained the Nine Noble Virtues, an ethical code created by John Yeowell and John Gibbs-Bailey of the Odinic Rite in 1974. Yeowell had ties to white supremacist and fascist movements, including, at one point, membership in the British Union of Fascists and National Socialists.

Angeli has three prominent tattoos on his torso, including a valknut on his upper chest, a stylized tree on his pectoral, and a large Thor’s hammer tattoo on his abdomen. The tree is potentially a reference to Yggdrassil, the world tree in Norse cosmology.

Angeli does not appear to be connected to any active Heathen or Pagan community. His appearance at the head of the charge brought swift reactions from the Heathen and Pagan community.

The Troth released a statement last night condemning the violence of the extremists and denouncing their appropriation of Heathen symbols:

Today, the world has witnessed an unprecedented scene of violence and terror in complete disregard for the safety of Congresspeople, law enforcement, and an entire city. These events were driven by bigotry and hate. Furthermore, several of those who have been most visible in these events have also been bearing symbols many of us hold very dear and even sacred.

The Troth condemns the events today by all who committed acts of violence and terror in the strongest manner possible. We support all who seek to voice disagreements peacefully, and condemn any attempt by governments to suppress peaceful protest. We condemn the misinformation and hateful rhetoric that drives these events. Our community stands available to assist those in Washington DC who may need to speak with clergy or have other needs due to this event.

Tonight, we join with faith leaders from around the globe in a prayer for peace to settle over the United States and that a calm and orderly transition of power continues.

Robert Schreiwer, Steer for the Troth, spoke to TWH this morning and offered the following statement:

Speaking on behalf of The Troth, Heathens Against Hate, Huginn’s Heathen Hof, Der Urglaawe, and myself: [at link]

I am sure all of you are as shocked and dismayed as I am by what the events in Washington, DC, today.

It is horrifying (although, sadly, not unexpected) that some nitwits turn up in the media who have connections to our religion.

The Troth, HAH, and HHH will be making a statement about this matter.

Those of us who honor ancestors and forebears can see the struggles of the generations who went before us being shaken to near insignificance by this appalling action taken by the extremists on the lunatic fringe of the political right.

Unfortunately, the lunatic fringe is becoming larger and larger, and the potential for a civil war, once unfathomable to most of us, becomes greater and greater. This truly is a shameful day in this country.

Schreiwer also noted that Angeli’s outfit “looked like the Heathen version of [the musical] Cats!”

Other Heathens have made equally strong statements roundly denouncing both the violent insurrectionist actions and the use of Heathen symbols.

“If you have been in Heathenry for a while,” Ryan Denison, founder of Heathen Men United and the Pagan and Polytheist Educational Research Symposium (P.A.P.E.R.S.) at the Mystic South Conference, told TWH, “you know the tie between white supremacy and Heathenry in America is from the beginning.

“You also know those original people were clueless on the actual history and clouded by social Darwinism, bad, biased and racist 19th-century scholarship, and appropriation of a religion and its symbols for their racist power grabs.”

Denison highlighted the Heathen community’s ongoing struggle against the appropriation of their imagery by white supremacists. “We modern heathens have to fight this constantly because that is not the history nor is it our faith. Most of those seen yesterday with our symbols on don’t even identify as Heathen.

The most prominent, ‘Q-shaman’ or Jake Angeli, doesn’t seem to identify as Heathen,” Denison continued, “but as a Christian mystic type at least according to his FB. Why would he get those symbols tattooed? Probably because he’s a white supremacist and he identifies those symbols with the 14 words and any other Nazi white power bullshit that’s floating around out there.”

This morning the Pagan Federation issued the following statement:

The Heathen community works to move forward, combating the negative messages that are created by the appropriation of their symbols by white supremacists and extremists. “I came out of the ‘Mjolnir closet’ many years ago,” said Denison, “because I decided the only way to change popular opinion was to show myself and show that Heathenry isn’t that 19th-century hate. I know our country will heal from this horrid attempt to destroy our republic. But it’s going to take work. Heathens need to help in this and be more vocal in calling racism. Leaders in Heathenry have been doing this for years with initiatives such as Declaration 127.”

Declaration 127 is a statement signed by 180 organizations denouncing the Asatru Folk Assembly for discriminating against racial minorities and queer Heathens. It takes its name from verse 127 of the Old Norse poem Hávamál, which W.H. Auden translated as “If aware that another is wicked, say so: Make no truce or treaty with foes.” Huginn’s Heathen Hof, which hosts the Declaration, plans to expand its scope from beyond simply pertaining to the AFA.

“Associating our symbols with acts of treason and sedition by extremists is simply unacceptable,” said Schreiwer. “We have to continue to work harder to get our message out there even stronger.”

Jake Angeli / Viking Protester

Part of a series on 2021 Storming of the United States Capitol. [View Related Entries]
Updated about 3 hours ago by Phillip Hamilton.

Jake Angeli / Viking Protester also known as the Q Shaman and Yellowstone Wolf is a well-known QAnon and Donald Trump supporter known for showing up to protests shirtless in a horned, fur "viking" hat and red, white, and blue facepaint. Angeli received significant mainstream and social media attention after multiple photographs of him in the Capitol building during the 2021 "Save America" Rally in D.C.

Online History
Ties To Star Seed Academy
Sometime in 2019, Angeli started the Star Seed Academy,[22] a religious organization with the main objective of helping people "increase their IQ's, ESP, expand their consciousness, improve their quality of life, extend their life expectancy, and educate them on the most important information" (screenshot shown below). The website allows users to buy a monthly membership to the academy and its resources for $111.11 per month, or $777.77 for a lifetime membership.

On June 18th, 2020, Angeli published[25] a book titled "One Mind At A Time: A Deep State of Illusion" meant to expose the "deep state." On August 6th, Soul Freedom posted an interview with Angeli to YouTube,[23] in which he describes his ties to Qanon and Star Seed Academy (shown below, left). Soul Freedom posted another video with Angeli on October 8th (shown below, right). Throughout the video, Angeli interacts with a number of what appears to be Star Seed members. At around 2:21:58 in the video, a member of the stream named "Traveler 0001" performs some sort of spiritual ritual.

May 5th Interview With Angeli
On May 5th, 2020, BrieAnna J. Frank posted a video to Twitter[1] of Angeli beating a drum, yelling thanks to Trump and "Q" after she and a number of journalists were allegedly harassed by him and a group of Trump supporters for wearing masks. Shortly after, she posted an interview with Angeli (shown below).

2021 "Save America" Rally D.C. Protest
On Jaunary 6th, 2021, the "Save America" rally took place in D.C. Following a speech from Donald Trump, supporters headed to the Capitol Building to march on Congress, making their way inside the Capitol. Angeli was present at the protest wearing no shirt, a horned fur viking hat, red, white, and blue face paint, and carrying an American flag. He appeared in many viral photographs taken at the event. For example, he appeared in a photograph posted by Igor Bobic[11] as the protestors first made their way into the Capitol (shown below).

Later that day, Steven Nelson posted a photo of Angeli posing for photographs behind the desk in the Senate, garnering over 23,000 likes and 12,000 retweets in 23 hours (shown below, left). Yousef Munayyer tweeted[] an image of Angeli in the Capitol surrounded by other protestors, criticizing the government's defense of the Capitol, garnering over 298,000 likes in 13 hours (shown below, right).

A number of other photographs of Angeli taken at the protest went viral across social media over the course of the night. A story published by The Sun[9] uses 3 high-quality photos of Angeli at various points during the protest (shown below).

Angeli received widespread media attention following the event from publications including Distractify,[17] The Daily Dot,[18] Telegraph,[19] and Rolling Stone[20] to name a few.

Memes
As more and more photographs of Angeli hit the web he became the subject of memes across social media platforms. On January 6th, u/xetgx uploaded an image of Angeli with bottom text reading, "I'd like to speak to the manager of America" to /r/memes[6] garnering over 12,700 upvotes before being removed (shown below, left). On the same day, JNalv posted a meme referring to Angeli on Twitter[7] garnering over 78,000 likes and 14,000 retweets in a day (shown below, right).

....Reputation
Angeli is known for being an outspoken supporter of Donald Trump and Qanon, and is considered a member of the far-right. He is viewed as a sort of hero in Qanon circles, often referred to as the "Q Shaman." This has gained him both a positive reputation in far-right circles, and a negative reputation to those on the left.

Criticism
Following the "Save America" rally, many on the left negatively criticized Angeli's role in the event, with some even calling for his arrest.[2][3]

On January 7th, Kim Kelly tweeted[11] making note of Angeli's tattoos, insinuating they may further support the argument that he is a fascist (shown below).

Antifa Agent Conspiracy Theory
Shortly after the media began reporting on Angeli, a conspiracy theory arose that he and others at the protest may have actually belonged to Antifa rather than Qanon, and was sent to the Capitol to make the right look bad. This, however, is highly up for debate. For example, on January 7th, 2021, Mogan Dane tweeted[12] insinuating Angeli is an actor and knows Nancy Pelosi (shown below, left). In contrast, Molly Ball tweeted[13] against the theory, pointing out how Trump praised them afterward, garnering over 250,000 likes and 55,000 retweets in less than a day (shown below, right).

...The amazing thing about "it might have been antifa" is that Trump literally summoned these people to DC, spoke at their event, offered to walk them over to the Capitol and then praised them afterward.

Personal Life
Jake Angeli is in his 30s, and is an Arizona native. He is allegedly an aspiring actor, according to a now-deleted page on Backstage.com which was shared by Twitter[5] user Gareth Icke, detailing a man named Jake Angeli with matching tattoos (shown below). The page has been archived.[4]

A man whose ostentatious outfit of horns and fur (and no shirt) made him impossible to miss in photos of Wednesday’s armed insurrection at the U.S. Capitol has been arrested.

Arizona man Jake Angeli, aka Jacob Anthony Chansley, was taken into custody on Saturday, according to the Department of Justice. He was charged with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, and with violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.

Capitol Police said that Angeli had called the FBI on Thursday and confirmed he was the man in the photos, according to a Capitol Police arrest affidavit obtained by The Washington Post. The document stated that Angeli said he had traveled to Washington “with other ‘patriots’ from Arizona, at the request of the President that all ‘patriots’ come to D.C. on January 6, 2021.”

Angeli also wore red, white and blue face paint and carried a spear with the American flag attached as he roamed the Capitol. His many torso tattoos were also visible, including an old Norse runic symbol called the “valknut,” or “knot of the slain,” that has been appropriated by white supremacists. (Modern-day Pagan groups have condemned the riots and as well as the misappropriation of their symbols by some groups.)

Angeli was among the supporters of outgoing President Donald Trump who broke into the Capitol to disrupt the joint congressional session that was formally certifying the results of the 2020 election, which Trump lost to Joe Biden.

The riot left at least five people dead, including Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick, whom the mob beat over the head with a fire extinguisher; and Ashli Babbitt, whom police shot dead as she and others tried to breach the Speaker’s Lobby through a smashed window. Three other people involved in the insurrection died due to what officials described as “medical emergencies.”

Capitol Police made only 15 arrests on Wednesday, despite hundreds of rioters breaching the U.S. Capitol, smashing windows, destroying property and forcing members of Congress to flee for their safety.

In the following days, more people have been arrested for their involvement. Along with Angeli’s arrest on Saturday, the DOJ also announced the arrests of Florida man Adam Johnson, who was photographed taking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s lectern, and West Virginia lawmaker Derrick Evans, who had livestreamed himself invading the Capitol.

Angeli, a supporter of the far-right conspiracy theory QAnon, has become known for his distinctive choice of protest-wear at rallies in Arizona, and his description of himself as a “shamanic practitioner” has led to his “Q Shaman” or “QAnon Shaman” nicknames.

Following the riots, Angeli said on Twitter that, contrary to rumors, he was not a member of Antifa or the Black Lives Matter movement.

“I’m a Qanon & digital soldier,” he tweeted. “My name is Jake & I marched with the police & fought against BLM & ANTIFA in PHX.”

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has also spoken out against right-wing media claims that anti-fascist activists were behind in the riots, stating it has “no indication” of that being the case.

On Wednesday, Angeli’s outfit got him a lot of attention on social media, prompting some people to compare him to Chewbacca — after which Star Wars fans jumped in to defend their beloved Wookie. Jamiroquai singer Jay Kay also logged on to clarify that, despite their physical similarities, the insurrectionist was not him.

The ‘QAnon Shaman’ is a failed actor who lives with his mom, believes spiral signs are an ‘FBI pedophile code’ and drives a battered Hyundai car plastered with conspiracy slogans, DailyMail.com can disclose.

33-year-old Jacob Angeli Chansley is one of the MAGA rioters wanted by DC police for his part in storming the Capitol building on Wednesday.

Photos of Chansley wandering through the Senate debating chamber while dressed in a horned furry hat and with his face painted red and blue went viral.

He was part of a Trump supporting mob, that also included Proud Boys and white supremacists, who broke into the building in a bid to stop lawmakers certifying Joe Biden’s election win.

Four protesters died during the riot – including one woman shot dead by cops – while a deputy was killed after being hit over the head with a fire extinguisher.

Now DailyMail.com can reveal that Chansley has been living with his mother Martha, 56, since January 2019 when he was booted out of his $899-a-month apartment in Phoenix, Arizona, owing $1,247 in rent arrears.

The 33-year-old has no job and, say neighbors, is often seen wandering the streets near her $199,000 Glendale home dressed in his horned shaman get-up.

Another neighbor, who asked not to be named, said he often sees Chansley dancing on the roof of his mother’s home – describing it as ‘bizarre’.

Although Chansley was not home when DailyMail.com visited the property on Friday, his Hyundai car – which has a bumper sticker that reads ‘WQKE’ - was parked outside.

His mother Martha, who is self-employed, declined to comment on her son’s antics, which include repeatedly turning up at protests across Arizona, among them one in July where he filmed himself ranting that Covid-19 is a hoax.

In September, he led a protest at Arrowhead Mall in Glendale, Arizona, where he rambled about child abusers and claimed that a spiral sign close to the bathrooms is actually ‘an FBI pedophile code’ while clutching a sign that read ‘Q sent me’.

He was also part of a rowdy crowd of Trump supporters chanting ‘Stop the Steal’ who showed up at a tabulation center in Maricopa County on November 5.

Chansley’s antics are a far cry from the life he had been hoping for when he graduated from Moon Valley High School in 2005.

Yearbook photos obtained by DailyMail.com show a fresh-faced blond teenager seen smiling with his arms around younger half-brother Tyler, 30.

A headshot was accompanied by the motto: ‘There is no greater gift than the gift of life so use it to its fullest.’

Along with Tyler, Chansley was also a member of the school debating team and was part of the Moon Valley High Math Club.

Photos accompanying the listing show a tattooed and bearded Chansley flexing his muscles in a flag-print shirt and bandana, while another shows him dressed in his infamous shaman outfit with a blacked up face

But while Tyler also joined the ‘Rocket Town’ cultural diversity program – describing his experience of spending time with students of color as ‘like being with my family’ – Chansley did not.

Friends from school say he has changed dramatically over the 15 years since he left Moon Valley High.

Former classmate Chris Trubl, 30, of Peoria, Arizona, described his behavior on Wednesday as ‘crazy stuff’.

He said: ‘It’s been 15 years since he left school and he has changed a lot. I haven’t seen him for a few years and I didn’t recognize him when I saw him at the Capitol.

‘I only realized it was him when I saw posts from people at school on social media. He’s changed a lot. That was some crazy stuff he was doing there.’

After leaving school, Chansley’s first act was to change his name. In August 2005, he applied to replace his mother’s maiden name – Angeli - with his 63-year-old stepfather Glen’s last name.

In the application, he wrote: ‘I want my last name to be that of my stepfather, my dad. I was not legally adopted by my stepfather while a minor. Angeli is my mother’s last name.’

Now 33, Chansley uses both names but prefers to use Angeli to tout for work – unsuccessfully – as an actor.

A profile on film industry site Backstage lists just one project – volunteering at a Theater Camp for disadvantaged children organized by local charity, Free Arts of Arizona, in 2018.

Photos accompanying the listing show a tattooed and bearded Chansley flexing his muscles in a flag-print shirt and bandana, while another shows him dressed in his infamous shaman outfit with a blacked up face.

Under education, he writes that he attended the school of ‘hard knocks’ and describes himself as a ‘Voice Over and Acting Master’.

Writing about his career, he says: ‘I am a highly talented actor, voiceover artist and singer. I am capable of performing over 30 different voices and numerous different accents.

‘I am also very skilled at embodying characters and expressing emotions in a way that causes people to become captivated and entranced.

‘My ability to memorize lines is only rivaled by my ability to perform improv and make it appear if my lines were memorized.

‘I am always increasing my abilities and honing my techniques to be the best of the best at what I do.’

Chansley’s main occupation now appears to be protest and he has become a fixture at anti-lockdown rallies in Arizona over the past year.

At one, in July 2020, he was filmed himself screaming that the Covid-19 second wave is ‘bulls**t’, adding ‘COVID-1984 is a globalist propaganda hoax’ – a reference to the George Orwell novel.

His Twitter feed is dominated by conspiracy videos and, more recently, details of his plans to attend the MAGA march in DC.

One, posted January 5, defends Proud Boys boss Enrique Tarrio who was banned from DC the day before the Capitol riot.

Chansley is now thought to be making his way back to Arizona, telling 12 News on Thursday he was waiting for a ride home to Phoenix.

He also said he is not worried that he has been listed as a person of interest by DC police and is not concerned about a possible arrest.

If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in jail for damaging a monument.

....pseudoarchaeology and the occult have strong connections to the QAnon movement. In fact, if you look at the network map of conspiracies, it starts with Atlantis and winds its way into Q.

...Chansley begins by stating he is a super soldier. More specifically, he is a shaman within the top secret government super soldier program. If you hear “super soldier” and immediately think of Captain America, yes! That’s exactly what we’re talking about here. Chansley believes that comic books are actually a form of soft disclosure, meaning there are secrets about real life information hidden in the pages of comics (he alleges that Marvel comic artist/writer Jack Kirby was a CIA agent who hid these secrets in the comics he wrote). He says that because of the position of where he currently sits in the super soldier program, Chansley is able to share those secrets. Chansley believes in the idea that shamanism is an ancient religion that is the root of all religions (although he is definitely engaging in Carlos Castaneda’s New Age appropriation of shamanism) and claims that Captain America is actually a representation of ancient First Nations shamans (again, the whole soft disclosure thing), as all super heroes/soldiers are. Hence, wearing a First Nations appropriated headdress is a signifier of Chansley’s shaman and super soldier status.

Chansley believes super soldiers are “starseeds” (he also lists some other names for them, but they all mean the same thing). Starseeds are people who have an extraterrestrial consciousness inside of their body. He blends this with other New Age beliefs, such as multiple realities (which again he claims are proven by the multiple timelines and dimensions included in comics). He talks about how people need to expand their consciousness in order to access these other realities (you might recognize this concept from my post about the Atlantis talk I went to a few years ago), and that psychotropic plants help with that (this is the Castaneda influence). He talks about how even ancient Egyptians were aware of this and that’s why they built their pyramids on special lay lines – the lines increased the magnetic energy frequencies inside the pyramids, and combing that enhanced energy with psychotropic plant use allowed Egyptians to expand their consciousnesses.

Chansley spends a lot of time talking about the usual Q theories (he truly is textbook Q) and he finds ways to tie them to pseudoarchaeological ideas like pyramids on lay lines and the sacred geometry of circular stone structures (you might recognize sacred geometry from my post about the winery here in BC). He briefly skims over other pseudoarchaeological theories, like Atlantis, the Younger Dryas Impact Hypothesis, and that there is evidence for a highly advanced ancient civilization in various stone structures and artifacts around the world (though he goes into these in much more detail in some of his other videos). It is overtly obvious that his beliefs regarding pseudoarchaeology and ancient alien theories have been strongly influenced by three popular figures in the pseudoarchaeology world – Corey Goode, David Wilcock, and Graham Hancock. I say overtly because not only are the theories of these three men intertwined into Chansley’s beliefs, he actually mentions them by name (including in some of his other videos as well).

This is part of a network map showing the connections between conspiracies related to The Great Awakening, of which pseudoarchaeology is a significant part (creator unknown) Goode and Wilcock are especially strong influences. Both have appeared on Ancient Aliens (Goode once, Wilcock 80 appearances), but more recently have turned largely to Youtube, where they appear to be broadcasting their own NRM. On his Youtube channel, Goode talks a lot about the “blue avians” and a solar flash that Chansley references in his video, while Wilcock more generally talks about the ascension + aliens concept Chansley is fully engaged with (though I don’t have time to discuss it here, “ascension” is connected to occult theosophist Helena Blavatsky, whose NRM influence is a large part of my research focus). Wilcock himself also wraps Q beliefs into his videos, especially parts of the Great Awakening, which is the idea of a huge disclosure of information that’s an important part of the Q conspiracy. The map of the Great Awakening actually includes direct reference by name to Graham Hancock, Erich von Daniken, and many pseudoarchaeological topics (Atlantis, Bosnian pyramids, giants, ancient aliens, etc.) . I don’t have room to discuss them here, but there is plenty in Wilcock’s Jan 5th and Jan 11th Youtube videos that feed directly into the mindset that led to the events of Jan 6th. There were people leaving comments on his Jan 5th video saying they were enroute to D.C. And in the Jan 11th video Wilcock even mentions getting information from “insiders” who were at the Capitol on the 6th, and states he would have been there himself but for research he couldn’t get away from.

What I have started working on is developing a social network map demonstrating the connections between pseudoarchaeology and the alt-right...archaeologists do have an important seat at the table of discussing alt-right movements. We can do this by first paying attention to how our work is being misappropriated into pseudoarchaeology...

Federal prosecutors offered an ominous new assessment of last week’s siege of the U.S. Capitol by President Donald Trump’s supporters on Thursday, saying in a court filing that rioters intended “to capture and assassinate elected officials.”

Prosecutors offered that view in a filing asking a judge to detain Jacob Chansley, the Arizona man and QAnon conspiracy theorist who was famously photographed wearing horns as he stood at the desk of Vice President Mike Pence in the chamber of the U.S. Senate.

The detention memo, written by Justice Department lawyers in Arizona, goes into greater detail about the FBI’s investigation into Chansley, revealing that he left a note for Pence warning that “it’s only a matter of time, justice is coming.”

“Strong evidence, including Chansley’s own words and actions at the Capitol, supports that the intent of the Capitol rioters was to capture and assassinate elected officials in the United States government,” prosecutors wrote.

A public defender representing Chansley could not be immediately reached for comment. Chansley is due to appear in federal court on Friday.

The prosecutors’ assessment comes as prosecutors and federal agents have begun bringing more serious charges tied to violence at the Capitol, including revealing cases Thursday against one man, retired firefighter Robert Sanford, on charges that he hurled a fire extinguisher at the head of one police officer and another, Peter Stager, of beating a different officer with a pole bearing an American flag.

In Chansley’s case, prosecutors said the charges “involve active participation in an insurrection attempting to violently overthrow the United States government,” and warned that “the insurrection is still in progress” as law enforcement prepares for more demonstrations in Washington and state capitals.

They also suggested he suffers from drug abuse and mental illness, and told the judge he poses a serious flight risk.

“Chansley has spoken openly about his belief that he is an alien, a higher being, and he is here on Earth to ascend to another reality,”
they wrote.

The Justice Department has brought more than 80 criminal cases in connection with the violent riots at the U.S. Capitol last week, in which Trump’s supporters stormed the building, ransacked offices and in some cases, attacked police.

Many of the people charged so far were easily tracked down by the FBI, which has more than 200 suspects, thanks in large part to videos and photos posted on social media.

Michael Sherwin, the Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, has said that while many of the initial charges may seem minor, he expects much more serious charges to be filed as the Justice Department continues its investigation.

Jacob Anthony Chansley, the shirtless, horned, conspiracy theory-touting U.S. Capitol rioter receiving an organic diet while in jail — now wants a pardon from President Donald Trump.

Defense attorney Albert Watkins told CNN’s Chris Cuomo on Thursday that clemency would be the only “honorable” thing after the president’s rhetoric whipped his supporters into a frenzy that sparked last week’s bloody Capitol riot. Trump, he added, “has an obligation” to dish out pardons.

Watkins said Chansley — also known as Jake Angeli and the QAnon shaman — hung “on every word” of the president and felt “very, very, very solidly in sync” with him. It was “like his voice was for the first time being heard,” the lawyer added.

Chansley, 33, of Phoenix, “loved” Trump and “felt like he was answering the call of our president,” Watkins said. He was in Washington “at the invitation of our president, who was going to walk down Pennsylvania Avenue with him,” he added. Trump told his supporters at the pre-riot rally that he would accompany them to the Capitol, but went back to the White House to watch the insurrection on TV instead.

Watkins acknowledged it was a long-shot attempt at clearing his client’s name.

But “with Trump you never know,” he added. “Who knows next time he may be represented by the Shaman rather than Rudy Giuliani?”

Chansley, who was quickly identified from photos showing him inside the Capitol in his distinctive outfit, was taken into custody over the weekend. He denies committing a crime.

It's no surprise he has mental health problems. But rewriting history to pretend he was "peaceful and unarmed" is outright lying. Legally, he's sane, knew the consequences of his actions.

'QAnon Shaman' in plea negotiations after mental health diagnosis -lawyer

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The participant in the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol riots nicknamed the "QAnon Shaman" is negotiating a possible plea deal with prosecutors, after prison psychologists found he suffers from a variety of mental illnesses, his attorney said.

In an interview, defense lawyer Albert Watkins said that officials at the federal Bureau of Prisons, or BOP, have diagnosed his client Jacob Chansley with transient schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression and anxiety.

The BOP's findings, which have not yet been made public, suggest Chansley's mental condition deteriorated due to the stress of being held in solitary confinement at a jail in Alexandria, Virginia, Watkins said.

"As he spent more time in solitary confinement ... the decline in his acuity was noticeable, even to an untrained eye," Watkins said in an interview on Thursday.

He said Chansley's 2006 mental health records from his time in the U.S. Navy show a similar diagnosis to the BOP's.

A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's office declined to comment on the case.

Chansley is one of the most recognizable of the hundreds of Donald Trump supporters who stormed the Capitol after the then-president in a fiery speech falsely claimed that his November election defeat was the result of fraud.

Chansley, of Arizona, was photographed inside the Capitol wearing a horned headdress, shirtless and heavily tattooed. He is a supporter of the QAnon conspiracy theory that casts Trump as a savior figure and elite Democrats as a cabal of Satanist pedophiles and cannibals.

He faces charges including civil disorder and obstructing an official proceeding.

Watkins did not say what Chansley was considering pleading guilty to, but defendants negotiating plea deals typically seek to plead to a less serious charge to reduce their potential prison sentences.

Watkins said authorities will need to determine how Chansley can get access to the treatment he needs to "actively participate in his own defense." Pleading guilty to a charge negates the need for a trial, but defendants still have to be declared mentally competent to do so.

Watkins said the BOP's evaluation of his client did not declare Chansley to be mentally incompetent, and he does not expect Chansley to be ordered to undergo what is known as competency restoration treatment.

'CHOCOLATE SOUP MESS'

Watkins said his client has expressed some delusions including "believing that he was indeed related directly to Jesus and Buddha."

"What we've done is we've taken a guy who is unarmed, harmless, peaceful ... with a pre-existing mental vulnerability of significance, and we've rendered him a chocolate soup mess," Watkins said.

Federal prosecutors have arrested more than 535 people on charges of taking part in the violence, which saw rioters battle police, smash windows and send members of Congress and then-Vice President Mike Pence running for safety.

About 20 defendants so far have pleaded guilty to federal charges in connection with the attack, according to a government tally.

Chansley is jailed as he awaits trial, after prosecutors convinced a federal judge he remains a danger if released.

U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth in May ordered him to undergo a competency evaluation.

As of July 5, he was one of 188 men and women undergoing an initial mental health evaluation to determine if they are competent to stand trial, according to BOP data....

To my amazement, when opening the Yahoo link in another browser, the complete text also showed up, in addition to that series of photos. Still, the captions cover the photos almost entirely, and render them mostly unseeable.

The Reuters link also have the same photos with captions, but there they are much more modest, and do not interfere with viewing the photos.
