Title: Nathan Chasing Horse / Nathan Lee Chasing His Horse / Nathan Chases His Horse
Post by: RedRightHand on January 10, 2015, 06:37:00 pm
This thread has been a long time coming.

His website: http://www.pipehome.com/

Since 2010, it's been publicly discussed that in '07 Mr. Chasing Horse signed a Park Service permit so pretendian fraud Steve McCullough could hold his plastic sun dance on land where only Natives are allowed to do this. http://www.newagefraud.org/smf/index.php?topic=1245.msg23775#msg23775

For at least that long, word has been spreading in NDN country that Mr. Chasing Horse is at best a womanizer and at worst... that there are some serious sexual and financial abuses going on in his circle. There has also been talk of him keeping a "harem" of very young women and today we received some information that it's far worse than we knew. There are now direct, credible reports that he is demanding sex with followers, some of them underage or married, and that he is demanding that people in his circle tithe monthly amounts to support him, in some cases thousands or tens of thousands of dollars per person per year.

If you google "Nathan Chasing Horse" one of the suggested searches that comes up is "nathan chasing horse child support." By all accounts I've seen, including court cases in which he was convicted, he is also a deadbeat dad, with many children, by many different women, that he does not support.

In 2005, "Nathan Chasing Horse, also known as Nathan Chasing His Horse, 29, South El Monte, Calif., was sentenced by U. S. District Judge Karen Schreier to two years probation for failure to pay legal child support obligations."
- http://www.scribd.com/doc/4965265/chasinghorse And more charges from 2008.

There are several blogs with published accounts of sexual assault allegations. These reports line up with what we are hearing from other sources who have not gone public: http://kinyewakanwinyan.blogspot.com/
- http://theworldissmallernowbuyerbeaware.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
- http://wanonakinyewakan.blogspot.com/

Here are two videos that have been posted by a former sundance brother of his, who left Mr. Chasing Horse's fold, along with many others, after seeing what he and others describe as Chasing Horse's abuse of women. The videos are public, but you will probably have to be signed in to Facebook to view them.

Apparently Mr. Chasing Horse, an actor who played the likable character "Smiles a Lot" in the movie "Dances with Wolves,"  is quite charismatic and those who know him say he is skilled at manipulating people. There are some horrific reports, and survivors are referring to his group, of over 100 people, as a cult. I am told he primarily recruits spiritually vulnerable people who have Indigenous blood, but who lack a cultural connection and are looking for Native ceremony and community.

Though he tells his followers, and the press, that he's a traditional Lakota holy man, he is not living in any Lakota community. He lived for a long time in California, and has more recently relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada. Nevada's sex laws are looser than surrounding states and not always enforced. Prostitution is legal, the age of consent is lower than it is in California (16, as opposed to 18), and the state has a bit of a reputation for not prosecuting polygamists/bigamists. In my opinion, what we are seeing here looks more like an abusive polygamous compound situation, with religion abused to frighten and keep people in line, rather than anything spiritual or NDN.

Brooke and her husband also produce music through their company. A young
Lakota man took them up on their offer to produce his music but because
he didn't have long dark hair or 'Indian features', they had him dye his
hair and eyebrows black, pin a hair piece to his head and wear beads,
leather and fringes. He said they told him this would help his music
sell. Well, his music sold, but with the exception of $50, he hasn't
received any of the royalties yet. Another Lakota man is considering a
law suit against them over his music. And the list goes on.     The
Schiavis have taken their charade to Europe, taking along others who
would sell out their birthright. The Lakota of South Dakota have sent
out a warning to them, yet they continue to exploit our people and
others from non-Indian cultures, who in their often sincere desire for
knowledge are callously taken in by the Schiavis and their ilk. The
Lakotas here know them and have advised them to come clean. One, young
Nathan Chasing Horse, is promoted as 'traditional', yet he has made
babies with young Indian girls here at home and abandoned them. A true
spiritual Lakota man, as Nathan portrays himself, would never create
life only to walk away from it, they said.

He is a member of the Rosebud Lakota Sioux Nation, the son of Chief Joseph Chasing Horse and Winifred Chasing Horse.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nathan_Lee_Chasing_His_Horse (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nathan_Lee_Chasing_His_Horse)

Regarding his father:

Quote
Rosebud traditional tribal members, Sharon Stead (daughter of the late medicine man Robert Stead), Rose Blue Thunder-Stenstrom, and elders Harriet Blue Thunder and Harry Blue Thunder said Chasing Horse is known to use spirituality to gain personal recognition.

Chasing Horse said he allows his information to go out on the Schiavi's web site but said he wouldn't comment to any rumors. He did say there are too many important issues at hand that need to be addressed, instead of focusing on negative, petty disputes.

Questions were raised on Chasing Horse's web page, which states, "Chief Joseph Chasing Horse," and claims he is a direct descendant of Crazy Horse.

In response, the title "chief," he said, comes from the media - even though he tells them he is only a traditional leader. He said he doesn't claim to be a chief, although he was honored with the "Sun Dance Chief" title at Wanblee, and Looking Horse tied an eagle feather in his hair, he said.

As for being a direct descendant of Crazy Horse, Chasing Horse said his family's lineage is private and will be kept that way.

Chasing Horse promotes his teachings as emissary of Looking Horse, and has a signed document from Looking Horse that gives him authority to act on behalf of the Sacred Pipe Carrier.

Looking Horse said he signed a letter, agreeing to work with Chasing Horse. However, after becoming suspicious of Chasing Horse and Schiavi's activities, he wrote him another letter that stated he was no longer associated with Chasing Horse, he said.

Several tribal members, educated in Lakota Star Knowledge, were surprised to see the star teachings on the site. Rosebud Sioux Tribal member Leland Little Dog said there were discrepancies within the information. He was not surprised to see Chasing Horse involved with the web site since Chasing Horse's exploitive activities are well known on the reservation, according to Little Dog.

Disturbing news about harmful behavior at sacred Bear Butte. The author of this article does not name Chasing Horse by name, but we are told this "cultural camp," complete with nuagers, aggressive non-Natives, and disturbing activities (disrespect and harm to women and Elders, among other things) is run by Nathan Chasing Horse.

Full article here: http://www.indianz.com/News/2014/014526.asp

And archived here on the site: http://www.newagefraud.org/smf/index.php?topic=4547.0

A few quotes:

"I must say, I never experienced this kind of behavior and activity in those prior years at Bear Butte. For instance, they sent a little child to tell the Poor Thunder/Helper camp that the next time that pet dog enters their camp they were going to kill it. Consequently, a heated altercation occurred between a non-Indian from the “Cultural Camp” and the pet owner’s father.

"I learned that these people were controlling the parking lot by placing chairs or other objects in the space when someone left reserving it for members of their own group. At one point, the Poor Thunder/Helper assistants moved one of several “cultural camp” trailers so they could park a family member’s vehicle and haul food to the camp. The trailer was taking up space for two vehicles.

"Immediately, the culture camp members accused the Poor Thunder/Helper camp of trying to steal their wood and stationed guards at the parking lot late into the night. I listened to camp-member discussions about how this culture camp had been kicked out of another Lakota reservation because they had pushed or assaulted a spiritual leader there.

"Also, I read some very disturbing information via the internet regarding the leader of this “Spiritual Camp.” I am withholding the specifics of this information since I am not absolutely sure as to its authenticity, but it is unsettling. Poor Thunder/Helper camp members reported that this group made sarcastic remarks about women not wearing dresses and even harassed little children that were there."

"During the three days I was there at Mato Paha, this “cultural camp” was merely camped there as if waiting for us to move out. They were not going through the usual inipi or putting people on the hill. Their activities appeared to be anything but spiritual. Instead I felt a strong sense of animosity emanating from members of this “culture camp.”

"As I was leaving, the wife and I had to walk through a group of the culture campers sitting in the shaded area near the bridge. I could see that some of them were glaring at us as we went by. Jokingly, in Lakota, I told the Mrs. to move faster lest we get beat up here."

"The Poor Thunder/Helper camp’s spiritual leader, Marvin Helper, continually reminded everyone that Bear Butte is a place of prayer and to stay calm.

"Mr. Helper spoke of a Bear Butte Park Service meeting scheduled to occur later this year. He was attempting to learn of the exact date for the meeting when I left. His intent is to request that this group be moved to another time. Essentially, he does not want this new-age “culture camp” there when his group returns next year.

"Personally, I see this “cultural camp” as a young entrepreneur’s money-making venture. Reminds me of the biblical affair in which Jesus kicked vendors and money exchangers out of a temple because they were preventing others from worshipping. It was certainly difficult this year for the Poor Thunder/Helper camp to worship in tranquility as they had for 2.5 decades."

Thanks, Piff. I was so tired last night I had no success posting the pics. Anyways, HOPEFULLY this is the start of a trend among Tribes/Nations not only regarding this particular person (hard to call him a man) but also others who sell ceremony, intimidate tribal members and leaders, steal/embezzle, and the fakers/pretendians listed on the pages here on this site.

I've sure been there with fatigue and trying to wrassle things online. :) Sure would be wonderful to see a trend of banishing these frauds.

Fr: Concerned Tribal Members Presented at Education Committee
Re: Banishment of Nathan Chasing Horse

A community meeting was held by Enrolled members of Fort Peck Tribes, your constituents who have a serious safety concern to address a problem with Nathan Chasing Horse and his following that has excluded and intimidated some of our Fort Peck Elders and community members from attending a Sundance in Chelsea for the last couple of years. This issue has come up in the Tribal Chambers in the past.

The community meeting was held on Thursday, July 2015 in Poplar by concerned Fort Peck Tribal Members to discuss banishment for his numerous accounts of Spiritual misuse and behavioral misconduct. He and his followers are a threat and danger to our tribal members and tribal communities.

For the past 15 years, he has been visiting our reservation and conducting ceremonies. He verbalizes he has respect for all women and children, yet his personal behavior does not correlate with his supposedly Spiritual actions. The Sundancers that come to participate at Chelsea are 80 to 90% out of state. We do not know what they are bringing onto our reservation.

There are documented cases in the US and Canada of his behavioral conduct, and by two accounts he has pursued minor girls from Fort Peck with his intentions to groom these minors which is a behavior pattern of a perpetrator. He was investigated by Criminal Investigator (CI) Trottier. A minimum of two Fort Peck families where the girls were minors, at that time they were under 18 years of age and were affected and traumatized by him.

Throughout Indian Country his reputation includes allegations of drug trafficking, physical abuse, sexual abuse, spiritual abuse, coercion and fraud. His group was asked to leave and not return in Pinion, Arizona where they conducted a Sundance for several years. His negative reputation and behavior precedes him.

His controlling and "cult like" tactics keep many in fear from leaving the "circle", or "family". We have a few individuals who we would encourage to share their personal stories on how they were affected, if they choose to. He continues to Spiritually Abuse those who refuse to follow his commands, with intimidation and threats to the individual and scare tactics of death.

There are standing allegations that drugs are being brought onto our reservation by his "circle" and possibly some of our own community members involved with him. Along with the drugs there are also weapons that were witnessed by some of our community members on the Chelsea Sundance grounds in the previous years.

This person is a dangerous threat to our reservation and community members. Please take into serious consideration the Fort Peck Comprehensive Code of Justice (CCOJ) Code Grounds for Exclusion: "Any person may be excluded from the Reservation for: (a) Conduct which substantially threatens the life, the physical health or the safety of an Indian or Indians residing on the reservation."

This misconduct is enough to execute grounds to exclusion/banishment from our reservation boundaries in protection of our Women, Children and Land. Thank you, Concerned Tribal Members

The banishment of Chasing Horse is finalized and official!  His legal team has threatened action. However the Fort Peck tribes have maintained sovereignty and cannot be sued in either federal or state courts. Also,  the council is exempt from tribal court in matters of tribal culture, spiritual abuse cases or public safety inside our borders. This action will hopefully spread to other rezzes where this lunatic operates.

Tribal leaders finalize banishment of Nathan Chasing Horse, a safety threat

By Louis Montclair
For The Journal

Fort Peck tribal leaders voted 7 to 0, with two abstentions, to pass the education committee’s motion to ban actor and Lakota “spiritual leader” Nathan Chasing Horse from the Fort Peck Reservation.

The motion, which alleges human trafficking, drug dealing spiritual abuse and intimidation of tribal members, will stop Chasing Horse from coming onto the reservation and holding a Sundance and ceremonies.

The majority vote was met with disapproval and outbursts from a group of about 10 followers of Chasing Horse, aka Nathan Lee Chasing His Horse and Nathan Chasing His Horses.

Chasing Horse is perhaps best known for his role as “Smiles A Lot” in the movie Dances With Wolves but is also known as a medicine man who performs ceremonies in the USA and Canada. He was planning on holding a Sun Dance in Chelsea this month but has moved it to Wyoming, instead.

Councilwoman Roxanne Gourneau said the council, in executive session, previously discussed Chasing Horse with police and prosecutors the past several years. Although they couldn’t discuss publically what was shared in those closed session meetings, it was clear that many authorities and people perceive Chasing Horse as a threat to tribal members, she said.

At last week’s education meeting, supporters of the banishment said there is at least one open investigation of Chasing Horse alleging he committed sexual abuse against one of his young female followers in South Dakota two years ago. But no charges have been filed. Other investigations are also underway, the banishment supporters alleged in the July 6 meeting.

“The federal government fell asleep on this but I’m not,” Gourneau said before the vote. “Will I protect our people from that? In a heartbeat,” Gourneau said.

The final vote was seven council members for banishment: Gourneau, Pearl Hopkins, Garrett Big Leggins, Grant Stafne, Terry Rattling Thunder, Dana Buckles and Charles Headdress. Two TEB members abstained from voting: Marva Firemoon and Rick Kirn (Tom Christian, Ed Bauer and Stacey Summers were absent).

After the vote was taken and the audience was leaving the chambers, Chasing Horse supporter Dakota Christian muttered to some of the supporters of the banishment, “All of you will regret this and you will be sorry.” Another supporter said the council was “taking away their prayers.”

Chasing Horse could not be reached for comment. But an attorney representing the actor has threatened the tribal council with a possible lawsuit.

Last week, the Tribal Executive Board’s Education Committee voted in favor of excluding Chasing Horse from the reservation after a group of tribal members packed the Council Chambers to voice concern over Chasing Horse returning to Fort Peck and holding a Sun Dance with his followers in Chelsea.

Worries were mainly safety-related and tribal members told of previous experiences with Chasing Horse, including incidents of alleged sexual abuse, human trafficking, threats to tribal members, intimidation, guns being used to keep tribal members out of ceremonies, and disrespecting the land on and around where the Sundance was previously held in Chelsea.

With the final vote at Monday’s special board meeting, the banishment is now in effect and Chasing Horse could be arrested if he comes onto the reservation.

The vote did not come without resistance and Chairman A.T. Stafne was forced to hammer down the gavel several times to stop outbursts and interruptions by Chasing Horse’s followers.

Before the board voted, Councilwoman Firemoon asked Chairman AT Stafne to recognize the supporters. Chairman Stafne said he would only recognize one because it was a meeting of elected officials and the supporters had never come into a committee to voice their opinions.

The group elected to have Fort Kipp elder Jackie Perry speak on their behalf.

Perry said she has known Chasing Horse for 15 years and during that time there was nothing but love shown from him toward her family. He taught them to pray and love and he never charged for ceremonies, she said. Perry said she didn’t know who was saying these things about him but they weren’t true and Chasing Horse would never hurt anyone. The grandfather spirits come down in ceremonies and talk through Chasing Horse, and their message is that the ones who don’t believe or criticize Chasing Horse are the ones that need prayer. She went on to compare Chasing Horse to Jesus Christ, saying he was also preaching love and unity and was crucified for his beliefs. “Nathan is a big boy and will handle it in which every way he does,” Perry told the tribal council.

Lilda Christian, another supporter of Chasing Horse, said they were forced to seek out the actor because there are no legitimate medicine men around the reservation and the local ones have served time in prison for sex crimes. Even with the council voting to exile Chasing Horse, it is okay because if this is the attitude of the leadership and of people here, then Christian said she wouldn’t want Chasing Horse to come around anyway.

Georgia DeMarrias said the council was violating the followers’ religious freedom rights by banishing Chasing Horse.

Councilman Kirn spoke up against the banishment vote, saying this needed to be done before the courts so formal charges could be filed. If it was determined something was done illegally then he should be put in jail. By doing banishment orders at the council level, the legislative body of the Tribes are taking on the responsibilities of the courts, he said. The council should not be a court, and he asked if there is a legitimate concern then why were the police never called? Gourneau said Kirn was wrong about how he views the powers of the Tribal Council. This situation is not about judicial examination, it is about protecting people from a threat, she told him.

The TEB has a reserve power to protect the people, and even though she never met Chasing Horse she said there is a big difference from religious freedom and what is being done by him on the Fort Peck Reservation. Everyone has the right to worship how they want and the TEB is not trying to take that away from anyone, she said. What the council is doing is protecting people from a public threat, Gourneau said. Tribal leaders are politicians and their lives are expected to have some kind of scandal, but not when it comes to spiritual leaders, Gourneau said. Spiritual leaders should have no scandal surrounding their lives, and they shouldn’t be holding guns at people who want to attend a Sun Dance on their own reservation, she added.

Legal threat?

Tribal leaders stated they received something that could be viewed as intimidating threat from an attorney in Washington DC.
On Friday, all TEB members received an email from an attorney representing Chasing Horse regarding the voting action taken at the education committee level Monday, July 6.

The email was strongly worded and went as far as asking who voted for this and why did they do it and what was said. It threatened a lawsuit for the banishment action taken.

Under federal law, the Tribes have sovereign immunity, meaning they cannot be sued in federal court without their consent. In state court, there is no jurisdiction over tribal government actions. Tribal Court also has no authority over the TEB, as the council never waived sovereign immunity and cannot be sued in their own court.

His cat is definitely out of the bag and walking around getting rocks thrown at it. I have no sympathy for whatever he goes through over all his transgressions against his own and the communities of other tribes. I PRAY that other tribes follow suit on him and other fakes and exploiters. People like him make people's issues with hobbyists look like child's play. The frauds like he and the multitudinous others listed on this site, they are the ones making all Natives look bad. They are the ones harming our people with their bad medicines and false spirituality. The balance they disturb ALWAYS rights itself and the people around him will be the ones to suffer. The families who willingly gave their underage daughters to him... the shame will be eternal.

I used to walk with the Chasinghorse family from 2010 to 2014. A spiritual circle with a spiritual leader named Nathan Chasinghorse. From where I'm standing as a former believer or follower. Its not what i "SEE" its what i know! And as i start understand that the assimilation Nathan Chasinghorse has over
my sister Melissa Onespot causes her to incriminate people, like myself, who he hurt in all aspects. Which no one can tell me that i deserved what happened to me with this man. The sneaky and tricky words he has the people using is something he once asked me to use against others(young girls), so I've been there i know what its like to stick up for this man because you believe, honour and respect this man for all that he has done for you and for the Oyate (People). This is why the believers or followers have this zealous unquestioning commitment for this man. Now that I've changed i understand that is getting carried away with the sacred ways of our ancestors. People who say they are here to give the world love and light should not have to try so hard to prove that they are not lying or guilty or have others do so. I know this because i am working on that for myself. So to say i did not ask anyone to help me share my own truth because only i can do so. Sharing your own experience is not gossip! There is a huge difference!! And yes i have told lies and thats something i admit from the depths of my soul. And for my sister, she forever holds a grudge for the lies that i have told in the past that had nothing to do with this man. So thats a huge reason why she chose his side! And for me i am learning to not hold a grudge over my sister for all that she did to me as a child. All that has happened to us as children resulted to what we did to ourselves as we got older. The youngest of 3 was very tough. Because i was the baby i was looked at as a brat which i was and thats a very common thing for the youngest of the family. Because i was the youngest i felt like i was not welcome in my sisters life and that i wasn't good enough to be taken serious or to be taken care of by my older siblings. So for my sister Melissa and where shes at in life is something i'll try my best to accept and its not that she's a believer, its that she put her whole heart into what has been said to help her walk in a good way, which is good. But the intentions of the man behind closed doors is like a drug addiction that needs a desperate intervention. To the people he asked to pray/converse, pray for him or themselves or family. While he preys on young girls which is his thrill of the hunt. Young girls do not mean to be victimized by this man nor do they understand what it means to be a victim. But for the sake of the well being of these victims they must have truth and reconciliation. He says "if you have a choice your not a victim" why should he make them choose or not to choose to have sex with them when they look at him as a spiritual leader? Sometimes we have no choice because of our negative self fulling prophecy, thats when manipulation comes into place with this man. He was only suppose to look at our cane of knowledge to help guide us through life but he used everything that cane was made out of and used it against young girls (victims) Yes victims i say! Because a predator is what he is, portraying to be a great almighty leader! He would always say "A real man has more respect for a woman even if she does not have respect for herself." If every girl or woman wanted this man, why didn't he have the respect of a true man? Especially for a his own niece? If we still lived in the buffalo days this was a huge NO! Because long time ago in the Blackfoot way if a man or woman crossed a line they would be dealt with by death. For this case it must be prison!!! So young girls across the nation will never experience what i have experienced.

Aho! This is a long time coming. I said my peace to this guy many many years ago after what I witnessed with my own eyes and his conduct toward me with regard to paying for a ceremony.

I will say from a logical Native's perspective when a man runs a ceremony and at the end when it is time for food and water. That man should be the last to take anything!  The women, children and other men eat first then that leader of that ceremony will eat.   I saw this many many times in many ceremonies run by old men who no one knew outside those circles and families..no famous actor.. nothing like that... Just serious good elders with good medicine. They all ate last. They spoke about the symbolism and why they ate last, they talked about how this teaches the young men and babies that are in the ceremony how to conduct themselves in this world. This sounds simple but it is a very telling sign.. A sign I rationalized some kind of way around it and I am ashamed of that for myself.

Go to one of Nathan's ceremonies and see who eats first and see who eats last. Nathan always eats first, it's mandatory.  I don't know why I didn't act on my instinct right away when I saw this but it did strike me as unusual and I did think about it a bit but I suppose I let his words overpower my own instinct. I saw the people around him so happy to offer him food first, then the rest of us would eat. I wanted to believe such a good person exist and they do but this guy isn't one of them. He is a predator, he must always win, always be with the most, he intimidates people using fear and Lakota Star knowledge, he needs lots of attention and that's not a medicine person. That's a sociopath.

This guy has had plenty of time to correct his path. He has been accused of this behavior for a while now and he could have easily changed, asked for forgiveness took a step back and refocussed his life. Instead he lashes back at the people who are confronting him, he dismisses those who are saying, hey! You hurt me! He disrespects women! Then talks about respect and honor, being a warrior etc..  So I got nothing for the guy, no prayers, nothing. Someone like this will not change. He will only lie and continue to lie and deceive others. I pray for his family and those around him who he is ultimately gonna hurt as they will be the last to see and realize what damage he has done to their lives. I pray for the people he as already hurt as many of them were just looking for a little help.  I encourage them to continue to follow the Lakota teachings and not let one person destroy their faith in these ways. There are plenty of elders to speak with and to pray with about this that can guide you in a good way. Also this is a teaching that we must also be strong on our own many times through life, we don't always need a guide, we are our own guide, the Grandfathers speak to us all. Trust your instinct, if something doesn't seem right, if your stomach is telling you it isn't right then it probably isn't.

This guy is no medicine person, he had the opportunity to be that person but he has taken advantage of people and allowed himself to become out of control.  These ways protect themselves as we are seeing. The irony is he tells people in his circle that when others leave the circle they are weak and that the Lakota Ways are protected so that's why they left.  He tell's them all this is rumors made by people who are jealous.  I really feel for the people he is using, many of them are innocent in all of this.

These ways are protected and we are seeing what happens to someone when they disrespect these ways and disrespects the people who truly believe in these ways.

So, I'm gonna tell u why I'm doing this. Exposing Nathan Chasing Horse. I didn't just wake up and decide to fuck with the guy for no reason. 3 or 4 years ago. I danced at his Sundance. At first I went to just see and help out. Haul wood. Help make the sweat lodges. Be of service. The next year I went and danced. And he put me up on the hill for my vision quest. Now, through out this time. I had several people warn me about him. And, I too had defended him. He was the all mighty second coming of crazy horse. According to... Well... Him. He told me he was a descended of Crazyhorse. Whatever. It wasn't til the second year that I started to notice breaks in the image he was portraying. First thing was the women. The young girls. I had asked about that and was shut down right away. Then came the money. Because I was in Twilight at the time. I was constantly being hounded for a payment of money. Not just a few hundred. But, I'm talking thousands. He would have his "helper" do it. Now, I've grown up around these ways my whole life. I know that u can help your Medicine Man out by giving some money for gas, lodging and food. That's fine. I also started to notice the cult mentally that Nathan Chasing Horse and his follows were pushing on me. The fear tactics. If I don't fill the "pipe" creator was gonna punish me. Hurt my family. Etc etc. I was born at night. But, not last night. So, I just said fuck him. I'm gone. I tried to talk to a few of his helpers. But, I could see they drank the kool aid and it was no use. So, I just left and chalked it up as a learning experience. I never bad mouthed him. I just thought That's his thing. And, u can't connivence someone who is brainwashed that who their following has bad intentions. After I left one my sisters stayed involved. It wasn't Tyger. :) the spiritual abuse she endured was horrific. And when she wanted to leave. Nathan Chasing Horse made threat to my family. Now, I can be straight up Rez when I need to be. I wanted fly down to Las Vegas. Where Nathan lives and just pull him out of his house and beat the shit out of him. But, I took the higher road. To wrap up this part. Nothing happened. My sister left him. We all were still alive. God didn't take us out. All was well. By the way Nathan Chasing Horse I knew u were full of shit. :)
A couple of days ago a young woman reached out to me asking for my help. She had remembered me from when I sundanced at Nathan's camp. She told what she had gone through with him. The spiritual abuse. The sex abuse. The fear tactics he uses to keep his followers in line. And, I got pissed. I regret not doing this earlier. For that. I am truly sorry. I began to watch the documentary about cults and cult leaders. And I could relate to all the victims. And then I felt I needed to do something to bring this to light. As Native People. There's so much shit have to deal with on an everyday basis. We don't need people like Nathan Chasing Horse and other fake medicine men taking advantage our children. Our elders. Just people who are looking for some hope in their lives. Since then. I have found my own spiritual path. And, it's mine. No one else's. I have my own connection with a higher power of my own understanding. And life is great. But, I can no longer sit back and watch this man do so much harm to people that all they wanted was a path to a higher power. To better then they were the day before. So, Nathan Chasing Horse. That's why I'm coming for u. I'm good. I just want the people u hurt and are still hurting to have a voice. I'm not gonna stop. I just keeping thinking about the victims that are telling me what your doing. At some point some if not all of them will find the courage to come forward and tell their truth about what u did to them. And, maybe the authorizes will listen this time. I hope some your follower and ex followers will hit a point when they say enough is enough. And, like I said... U can come at me bro. I don't care.... I want u too... Cause u got a lot of skeletons in your closet. Let's open the door so people can see what your really doing.
Peace n love to all the ex followers and current followers. I hope u see what I see.

NORTH LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police on Tuesday arrested and raided the home of a former “Dances With Wolves” actor turned alleged cult leader accused of sexually assaulting young Indigenous girls during a period spanning two decades, according to police records obtained by The Associated Press.

Known for his role as the young Sioux tribe member Smiles a Lot in the Oscar-winning Kevin Costner film, Chasing Horse gained a reputation among tribes across the United States and in Canada as a so-called medicine man who performed healing ceremonies and spiritual gatherings and, police allege, used his position to abuse young Native American girls.

His arrest is the culmination of a monthslong investigation that began after police received a tip in October 2022. According to a 50-page search warrant obtained by AP, Chasing Horse is believed to be the leader of a cult known as The Circle.

And it comes as state attorneys general and lawmakers around the U.S. are looking into creating specialized units to handle cases involving Native women.

In South Dakota, the attorney general’s office has put a new focus on crimes against Native American people, including human trafficking and murders.

According to the document, Las Vegas police have identified at least six alleged victims and uncovered sexual allegations against Chasing Horse dating to the early 2000s in multiple states, including Montana, South Dakota and Nevada, where he has lived for about a decade.

There was no lawyer listed in court records for Chasing Horse who could comment on his behalf as of Tuesday evening.

Chasing Horse was born on the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota, which is home to the Sicangu Sioux, one of the seven tribes of the Lakota nation.

According to the warrant, he was banished in 2015 from the Fort Peck Reservation in Poplar, Montana, amid allegations of human trafficking.

“Nathan Chasing Horse used spiritual traditions and their belief system as a tool to sexually assault young girls on numerous occasions,” it reads, adding that his followers believed he could communicate with higher beings and referred to him as “Medicine Man” or “Holy Person.”

Although the warrant includes details of crimes reported elsewhere, the arrest stems from crimes allegedly committed in Nevada's Clark County. They include sex trafficking, sexual assault of a child younger than 16 and child abuse.

Some of the alleged victims were as young as 13, according to the warrant. One of Chasing Horse's wives was allegedly offered to him as a “gift” when she was 15, while another became a wife after turning 16.

Chasing Horse also is accused of recording sexual assaults and arranging sex with the victims for other men who allegedly paid him.

Records: 'Dances with Wolves' actor armed cult against cops

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nathan Chasing Horse trained his wives to use firearms, instructing them to “shoot it out” with police officers if they ever tried to “break their family apart,” according to records obtained by The Associated Press. If that failed, the actor from “Dancing With Wolves” said they should take “suicide pills."

The abuse that authorities said spanned two decades led Tuesday to the arrest of Chasing Horse following a monthslong investigation by Las Vegas police. He was taken into custody as he left the home he shares with his five wives in North Las Vegas. SWAT officers were seen outside the two-story home in the evening as detectives searched the property.

During the raid, police found memory cards with videos of the sexual assaults, firearms, 41 pounds of marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms in the home, according to an arrest report released Wednesday.

Known for his role as the young Sioux tribe member Smiles a Lot in the Oscar-winning Kevin Costner film “Dances with Wolves," Chasing Horse gained a reputation among tribes across the United States and in Canada as a so-called medicine man who performed healing ceremonies. But police said he abused his position, physically and sexually assaulting Indigenous girls and women, taking underage wives and leading a cult.

Chasing Horse, 46, will be charged with at least two counts of sex trafficking and one count each of sexual assault of a child younger than 16, child abuse or neglect and sexual assault, according to court records. Authorities have not said when he will be formally charged.

He was booked before midnight into Clark County’s jail, where he remained held without bail on the sexual assault charges as he awaits his first court appearance, expected Thursday in North Las Vegas. There was no lawyer listed in court records for Chasing Horse who could comment on his behalf, and Las Vegas police said he was “unable” to give a jailhouse interview Wednesday.

According to a 50-page search warrant obtained by the AP, Chasing Horse is believed to be the leader of a cult known as The Circle.

At least two women told police that Chasing Horse had shown his wives a stash of “small white pills” that he called “suicide pills” sometime in 2019 or 2020, years before his arrest.

The women were instructed to “take a pill to kill themselves in the event he dies or law enforcement tries to break their family apart," according to the warrant.

One of Chasing Horse's former wives also told police that she believed his current wives would “carry out the instructions” to take the pills and open fire on law enforcement if officers came to the home to arrest Chasing Horse.

Las Vegas police said in the document they have identified at least six sexual assault victims, some who were as young as 14 when they say they were abused, and traced the sexual allegations against Chasing Horse to the early 2000s in multiple states, including Nevada, where he has lived for about a decade, and South Dakota and Montana.

“Nathan Chasing Horse used spiritual traditions and their belief system as a tool to sexually assault young girls on numerous occasions,” detectives wrote in the warrant, adding that his followers referred to him as “Medicine Man” or “Holy Person” because they believed he could communicate with higher beings.

One of Chasing Horse’s wives was offered to him as a “gift” when she was 15, according to police, while another became a wife after turning 16.

Chasing Horse also is accused of recording sexual assaults and arranging sex with the victims for other men who paid him.

He was arrested nearly a decade after he was banished from the Fort Peck Reservation in Poplar, Montana, amid allegations of human trafficking.

Fort Peck tribal leaders had voted 7-0 to ban Chasing Horse from stepping foot again on the reservation, citing the trafficking allegations in addition to accusations of drug dealing, spiritual abuse and intimidation of tribal members, Indian Country Today reported.,,,

Posting this link for the photo. We've seen this before with other spiritual frauds. Self abuse or self destructive behavior, has not been kind to him. He's in his mid 40s and looks far older. He's obviously used himself quite a few of the drugs he's accused of using to control his followers.

Nathan Chasing Horse filmed sex assault of child, groomed girls to replace wives: prosecutor
By Allie Griffin
February 8, 2023 11:38pm  Updated

The former child-actor-turned-cult-leader Nathan Chasing Horse allegedly filmed himself sexually assaulting a child and was actively grooming girls to replace his aging wives, a Nevada prosecutor revealed in court Wednesday.

The disturbing allegations against the 46-year-old “Dances With Wolves” actor came to light during a hearing Wednesday at a north Las Vegas courtroom where a judge set his bail at $300,000.

Federal prosecutors charged Chasing Horse with two counts of sexual exploitation of children and one count of possession of child pornography, according to a criminal complaint obtained by 8 News Now.

Chasing Horse, who reportedly led a cult called “The Circle,” wrote detailed journal entries about his progress to groom young girls to become his future wives, according to Clark County Chief Deputy District Attorney William Rowels.

“There is evidence that this individual is still in the process of grooming young children to replace the others as they grow up,” Rowles said.

The journals were recovered by investigators after SWAT officers and detectives raided Chasing Horse’s North Vegas home — where he lived with his five wives — on Jan. 31 and took him into custody.

Rowles also said investigators discovered a video that allegedly shows Chasing Horse sexually assaulting a girl between the ages of 11 and 13 while she was unconscious, 8 News Now reported.

“Throughout the video, the victim appears to be unconscious and displays minimal movement,” the federal complaint said. “The male pans the camera toward his face. During this time the face of the adult male is clearly observed and can be identified as Chasing Horse.”

The actor, known for his role in the 1990 Kevin Costner movie, portrayed himself as a “medicine man” who could communicate with spirits in order to attract the trust of Indigenous followers. He then used his influence to sexually and physically assault young girls and women in a history of abuse that dates back to the early 2000s and spans multiple states as well as Canada, investigators said.

Police have identified at least six victims, including one who was 13 when the abuse began, and another who said she was offered to the alleged cult leader as a “gift” when she was 15.

Chasing Horse, who was born on the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota, faces eight felony charges in Nevada including sex trafficking, sexual assault, child abuse and possession of child pornography.

Rowles requested bail be set a $2 million — stating that Chasing Horse is a flight risk with an extensive network of resources and devout followers. Chasing Horse’s public defender Kristy Holston asked the judge to set bail at $50,000.

Justice of Peace Craig Newman set bail at $300,000, but Chasing Horse would have to pay just 15% or $45,000 to be freed under Nevada law.

The reported cult leader’s family and followers — who filled the courtroom and stood outside the building waving signs that translate to “Justice for Chasing Horse” — cheered at the news he was granted bail.

His victims, including those in the courtroom, however, were disappointed by Newman’s decision.

“What happened this morning was like a slap in the face,” said Rulon Pete, a representative of the victims. “Realistically, if he posts bail, that’s the mystery. What’s going to happen?”

If Chasing Horse makes bail and is released, he will be electronically monitored and must live with a relative. He also cannot have any contract with his alleged victims or minors and is banned from access to alcohol, drugs and firearms, Newman ordered.

It’s unclear when he will appear in federal court on the new federal charges.

He was also charged in British Columbia, Canada, this week for an alleged 2018 sexual assault.

Chasing Horse charged with federal crimes in sex abuse probe
A former “Dances With Wolves” actor at the center of a sweeping sexual abuse probe in Nevada and Canada was charged Wednesday afternoon with federal crimes
By RIO YAMAT - Associated Press Feb 8, 2023 Updated Feb 12, 2023

NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) — A former “Dances With Wolves” actor accused of sexually abusing Indigenous women and girls for decades was charged with federal crimes Wednesday, adding to the growing list of criminal cases against Nathan Chasing Horse since his arrest last week in Nevada.

Chasing Horse, 46, now faces two counts of sexual exploitation of children and one count of possession of child pornography, according to a criminal complaint filed Wednesday afternoon in Nevada U.S. District Court. Authorities have said Chasing Horse filmed sexual assaults.

The federal charges came hours after a state judge on Wednesday granted $300,000 bail to Chasing Horse, who has been in Las Vegas police custody since his Jan. 31 arrest near the home he shared with his five wives.

Earlier Wednesday, about two dozen of Chasing Horse's relatives and friends had filed into a North Las Vegas courtroom in a show of support, hoping he would be released on bail. They cheered and celebrated the judge's decision as they left the courthouse, waving signs that translate to “Justice for Chasing Horse.” Now, if he posts bail, he is likely to be taken into federal custody....

Chasing Horse blamed ‘spirits’ for alleged sex assaults, grand jury transcripts say
by: Vanessa Murphy

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Grand jury transcripts are revealing more about allegations against Nathan Chasing Horse. The “Dances with Wolves” actor was indicted on 19 charges in Clark County. This includes 10 counts of sexual assault against a minor under the age of 16, six counts of sexual assault, along with open and gross lewdness, first-degree kidnapping of a minor, and trafficking in a controlled substance.

Two women testified that Chasing Horse sexually assaulted them using his status as a “Medicine Man” to manipulate them. Chasing Horse groomed the alleged victims as young girls and claimed that spirits told him to commit the alleged crimes, documents said.

One woman, now 25 years old, said that her mother met Chasing Horse after she had a spider bite and sought healing from him. She stated that they stayed connected with Chasing Horse for Native American ceremonial purposes and she described being adopted by Chasing Horse as a granddaughter at 7 years old.

Then at the age 14, she traveled to Las Vegas from California to ask for a ceremony to help heal her mother.

This is when Chasing Horse said that he had to speak privately with the teen, took her to a closet in the dark and sexually assaulted her, according to the woman. Chasing Horse told the woman that healing her mother would cost her her virginity, she said. She recalled crying and claimed that Chasing Horse told her not to tell anyone what happened and then handed her a pill to take. She said that she believes it was a “Plan B” pill.

The woman also stated that Chasing Horse’s wives were present and had to know what happened: “…I had walked out into the living room and they were all sitting there and I remember they were looking at me like they were disgusted with me,” she said.

She also described another incident in which one wife called her into a bedroom to show her a dress, and quickly left to leave the teen alone with Chasing Horse. Another sexual assault occurred, the woman said.

The woman said that Chasing Horse led her to believe that her mother would die if she refused to have sex with him.

The woman also described a multi-state trip at the age of 14 with Chasing Horse and his “helpers,” men who would perform tasks for him like driving. She said Chasing Horse sexually assaulted her every night of the trip. She also testified that Chasing Horse had her get tattoos of a spider and a spirit.

“[He] said that spirit would make me go crazy if I ever try to speak about it,” she testified.

The woman also claimed that Chasing Horse continued to give her birth control pills.

After the woman returned to her mother, she said Chasing Horse continued to text her through an app in which the texts vanish, “Text Now.”

In 2013, when she was 15 years old, she moved back to Las Vegas where she said the sexual assaults continued. She said that Chasing Horse took her to several Las Vegas hotels.

At 16 years old, she said that Chasing Horse asked for her mother’s permission to be with her.

At 18 years old, the woman said moved in with Chasing Horse and his wives and also became considered a wife.

In 2019, after she said was physically abused and witnessed abuse of the other wives, the woman said that she started to question things. She testified that she set up a profile on a dating app, and that one of Chasing Horse’s “bros” saw the profile. This is when Chasing Horse took away all of her electronic devices, she said.

The woman said that Chasing Horse eventually told her to go into a dark room in the house where a man sexually assaulted her. She testified that the individual may have been Chasing Horse but she was not sure. She said that Chasing Horse then took her to hotel rooms where he would tell her to wear a blindfold while she would then be sexually assaulted by unknown men.

Another woman, now 27 years old, testified that her mother had previously had a relationship with Chasing Horse. She said that she first met him when she was 3 or 4 years old, they continued to stay connected for ceremonies and she looked at Chasing Horse as a father.

She testified that she and her mother became members of Chasing Horse’s alleged cult known as “The Circle,” which at one point had an estimated 300 followers.

In August of 2014 when she was 19 years old, the woman testified that Chasing Horse sexually assaulted her in his North Las Vegas home. She said that Chasing Horse said, “that he has to do this because the grandfathers told him.”

Because of her beliefs and what she was taught, she said, “I was upset with the grandfathers that this happened and I didn’t understand why.”

Chasing Horse had told followers during ceremonies “that anyone that left bad things would happen to them. And he would always use an example that this girl who left, her fiance got in a car crash and passed away.” the woman testified.

The woman said that she reported the incident to police, but nothing came of it. Her next contact with police was at the end of 2022 or early 2023.

In addition to the two women, a Las Vegas Metro Police forensic scientist testified that a large quantity of magic mushrooms were found when police executed a search warrant at Chasing Horse’s North Las Vegas home on Jan. 31.

Chasing Horse remains in custody at the Clark County Detention Center in downtown Las Vegas. He has declined all media interviews, according to Las Vegas Metro Police.

Chasing Horse faces federal charges along with warrants in Montana and Canada. He also has previously been banned from several Native American reservations.

Chasing Horse is expected back in court on March 1.

Several of Chasing Horse’s “helpers” were named in the transcripts. None of the helpers or Chasing Horse’s wives are currently facing charges.

My name is Corena Leone formerly Corena Chasing Horse.

My mom raised me with the man you know as Nathan Chasing Horse and his family in his “traditional way of life”. I was raised very close to him and even called him grandpa and he and his wives practically raised me from the age of 6 and up.
