Hello Mr. Renaud,
"Two Turtles" is actually Martin Renaud, a French Canadian living in Australia. There are many Martin Renauds online, so let's be careful to not confuse him with others.
Renaud calls himself a performance artist. That means he does bondage and S&M on himself in public and calls it "ceremony." See his site at martinrenaud.com. I'm wondering if Renaud deserves his own thread.
Renaud has no Native ancestry mentioned anywhere online. The "uncle" claim is in the sense of "white guy happy an exploiter is telling me what I want to hear."
Mr. Renaud, nothing Rosser does or says is remotely authentic. Nearly all of it is offensive, stereotypical, and some of it is downright dangerous to the health of anyone involved. Rosser may claim to have ancestry, but any Native in the US can spot the ludicrous flaws so quickly.
Rosser may not make much profit from doing fake and dangerous versions of ceremony. His reward is to feel important and loved by naïve white Australians for telling them what they wish to hear. I'd guess many of them don't share such positive views of Aboriginal people. Hearing an alleged American Indian tell them warm fuzzy lies helps them resolve their cognitive dissonance.

Martin Renaud's public performance "Outward Bound". He smudges himself, then settles into a large space outlined with rope, amidst sunbathers and other folks out enjoying the day. His video includes close ups of various people, did he get their permission for this?
He tears colored strips of fabric and then ties the strips to the rope circle. I imagine he thinks the strips are prayer ties. He wraps himself in the rope, then lays down and rolls himself further in the rope. Then he lowers himself into the water, while still wrapped up in rope. Chest to feet, fully wrapped in rope, in water. He rolls around for a bit then unwraps.
Back on earth, he then wraps himself with red rope. Then white. He wraps, including his face and head, sits for awhile, then unwraps.

He mentions on his FB page about meeting fan maker and "medicine man" Pat Scott https://www.facebook.com/pat.scott.1422409?fref=ts&ref=br_tf
yet another advertiser/fame-seeker totally contradicting real medicine ways. This is the type of person who makes people sick with their "healing" ways. If they're advertising and/or have a website, they're a bullshitter.
-
His FB page is chock full of fakers, exploiters, and pretendians of all shapes and sizes. This guy could be a case study in international fraud enablement.
-
A bit more detail here (apologies if some of these links have already been posted).
Renaud is one of those white dudes who purchases fake ceremonies from the exploiters he came here to defend. He's one of those kinky "performance artists" who does bondage stuff and "erotic performance", tarted up with stolen bits of NDN ceremonies, then sells it to other non-Natives. Disgusting.
That offensive video opens with him smudging himself in front of an audience, as performance. Then making pretend prayer ties as performance. Then he... wears the prayer ties. He rolls around on the ground getting into his bondage deal, wrapped in the fake prayer ties. Eventually he leaves them all in a filthy heap on the beach, surrounded by (ignored by) more white people in swimsuits. Oh, need I mention, everyone in his video is white.

Renaud is the producer of this offensive film about ceremony-sellers, so he has a financial stake in promoting people like Mikey Wind and, if he's participating in this, Roy Barnes: http://metroscreen.org.au/a-journey-on-two-turtles-fundraising-event/
Fraud. Big, ole, stealing, exploiting fraud.

I think the one redeeming quality this creep has going for him is that almost no one sees (or even pays attention to) his "art" performances. But the film could easily become a how-to for fraudsters and pretendians/defendians, and enablers.

Fraud. Big, ole, stealing, exploiting fraud.
I heartily agree with this assessment.

I searched for him earlier- literally nothing came up in any permutation of that name.

Wow you guys miss nothing. I ran right past that, I guess.
I ran right past it the first couple times I read it too. I tend to initially skim material. I had googled all sorts of search combos also with no useful results. Catching the filmmaker piece this time might eventually help. But we are still left with a big Who is this guy? Who is Renaud, who are the people he follows and promotes?
Contained in that Who? is questions on their behavior. That Renaud video of his public actions is appalling.

I don't think that tree consented to the underpants bondage routine.

Martin was recently confronted for teaching Sweat Lodge and Sundance Songs as part of his mens circles - Byron Bay area, Australia. This is in direct violation of the Protection of Ceremonies Protocol issued following a meetings of the Elders, chaired by Chief Arvol Looking Horse - 19th generation carrier of the sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe - Lakota, Dakota & Nakota nations.
Martin has advised that he no longer uses Sweat Lodge and Sundance Songs during his mens circles. This has been put on a watch and see status.

Hi! Thanks for sharing my video and performance art work. I gather that you don't like it and you feel righteous about it. That's ok! Some of you have managed to come with pretty good jokes about it though. :) Sorry that you are so angry "AClockworkWhite", I feel for you...
I don't pretend to be anything else than what I am and I surely never sold or stole ceremonies. My art is inspired by my spiritual path and my videos by Elders that have influenced my life and travels.
I salute Bernd Brauer aka "Eagle Helps Him" for his work through http://www.naca.saphvisionquest.com/ and http://www.saphvisionquest.com with his mission in regards to the "Protection of the Ceremonies Protocols" in Australia: it humbled my aspirations. What I find ironic is that NACA refers to Uncle Michael Rosser "Walks The Wind" for advice about fraudsters, yet he has his own thread here. Hehe! It goes full circle.
Namaste! :p

If you truly "felt" you would realize you were wrong and halt it. Instead you smile and find it funny and give us greetings from another faith, using yet more cultural and spiritual appropriation. Essentially you get attention for doing your version of a "ceremony" that is equivalent to claiming to do a version of Catholic Eucharist by eating pieces of corpses.
It's worth noting that Renaud admitted to one of his "teachers" being Michael Rosser, an obviously white Australian posing as a Navajo healer. Rosser's idea of "healing" was to used a horrific tragedy to bring attention to himself.
-
Hi Al! Do you really think this thread about me is so serious? I thought I'd throw a "namaste" in the mix and show off my Indian culture! I'm baffled that you think my performance art is a "ceremony" and that it has been stolen from the Native American faith. It isn't. As for my teachers, I will defend them always, because I'm a Spiritual Warrior (of the Rainbow Nation).
-
It tells us all how clueless you are that
A-You think it's OK to be a cultural imperialist of anyplace not European.
B- You are so ignorant as to think there is one "Native American culture" instead of thousands of separate ones.
C-You either are delusional enough or enjoy being deliberately obtuse and pretend you are not stealing ceremony and mixing it up with offensive attempts at "art."
And no, you are no warrior, and have no clue what it means. Warriors are willing to sacrifice themselves to protect others, and often do. They are noble, and also humble. None of them would be so egotistical as to label themselves one. You're a white racist who thinks it funny to play NDN, an overgrown immature child seeking attention. One who was trained by obvious frauds, other whites such as Rosser posing as NDN just to get attention.
-
You're like some brain-damaged toddler, pulling off his poop-filled diaper and shoving it in people's faces, proud of your "creation." But you're not our kid so we don't have to tolerate you or let you stay here.
