These people aren't pretending, just straightforward cultural appropriation.
Sandy & Chuck, some white folks who decided to spend their retirement selling ceremonies, healing, and drums.

They attribute their traditions to learning tracking and wilderness skills in the tradition of Tom Brown Jr. and his teacher Stalking Wolf, who are both known frauds (Stalking Wolf lied about being Lakota, and though Tom never claimed indigeneity, he apparently plagerized a bunch of other Ernest Thompson Seton books and rewrote the stories as his own).

From the website:
"Our Sacred Ceremonies are not from any one culture. Grandfather Stalking Wolf's teachings are the essence of many similar ceremonies from all over the world."

Some of the Tom Brown Jr. Tracker School instructors they work with include Malcolm H. Ringwalt and "Tom Frank from Flagstaff Arizona".
