"Medicine Journey" website

Pardon my outrage and disgust, but this site reads like a slick DIY Lakota medicine man online training guide.

Under the story section -

Quote
Myths, stories and legends connect the deepest parts of ourselves with our world. Here we celebrate our storytellers who weave the past, present and future with their words.

Featured Storyteller: Four Arrows (Donald Trent Jacobs)
Of Cherokee/Creek/Scots-Irish ancestry, Four Arrows served as Dean of Education at Oglala Lakota College on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, where he lived and honored the traditional Sun Dance vows of the Medicine Horse group.

Donald Trent Jacobs is the only name I could find associated with the site.

on the website in the OP there is an interesting page claiming to give information about the sun dance here

http://wvdesigndiva.com/ceremony/sundance/

and includes the text:
You can read more about the piercing process on Dustyn Medicine Wolf's site.

with a link to this page

http://www.angelfire.com/co/MedicineWolf/lakota/sundance.html

I'm not sure if these people care connected IRL, just mentioning the connection in case it is important further down the road.

When I was still living in Arizona from 2001 to 2004, Don Trent was known statewide as an antiwar activist. Esp right after 9-11, this took some guts. He taught at Northern Arizona University. I don't recall hearing anything bad about him. But keep in mind I was in Phoenix in the grad program at ASU, and he was faculty, up at Flagstaff.
