Hi there

Hi, I am Metis (my work keyboard can't do accents :() from Canada. My family is from the James Bay region of Quebec. My grandparents were taught to be ashamed of their mixed blood and so I did not know anything about my heritage until I was 16 (I'm 32 now). My grandfather has since died and my grandmother still gets frustrated if I try to ask her about it so I had to start learning on my own. Luckily when I was younger and naive I had the good fortune not to run into any frauds. I'm glad to have discovered this site, I can refer it to others who have to learn like I did so they don't end up down the wrong path.
