June 15, 2007 - Forum software upgraded. Hopefully this resolves any difficulties. (I'm not sure if there were any difficulties, but it was time for an upgrade anyway.)

Mr McEwan, we've had our difference in the past but that not does mean that I can't send you healing thoughts and prayers... if you will accept them from me.  I truly wish you a speedy recovery.

Thanks for you good thoughts, everyone: things improving but my leg still doesn't work properly. It wasn't life-threatening, but I did empty a n2o/o2 (Entonox/'gas and air') cylinder on the way to A & E, and then they had to give me a shedload of morphine.

A quick note for UK members: if you ever need an ambulance, do phone the ambulance service trust HQ afterwards when you're able and ask for your thanks to be passed on to the crew and the dispatcher. They appreciate it.

I'm assuming the cylinder you mentioned is what we in the States call "laughing gas" which doesn't kill pain but supposedly (I've never had any) makes you not care that you have pain.

Morphine I like, but opium is better!

Enter the poster child for dental phobia...  I've had the laughing gas during say, a scaling, and it did not help at all!!
The other stuff I've never had nor the morphine and I hope I never have too but with drivers on the roads around here where I am you just never know.  I do however like the red Poppy flowers the Opium is a derivitive of... so pretty.

Sending >BARNABY<  prayers for a speedy recovery.

Lindaa.

Linda, I'm a great dental-phobic myself and I won't take laughing gas, I'm scared of it! I found a really good dentist but when I get the anesthetic shot it feels later on like I was punched in the jaw where the shot went in. I wish I could do self-hypnosis and spare myself the shots.

Opium is very pleasant when smoked. I had the pleasure many years ago on a couple of occasions - it wasn't to ease any pain but I could tell it would do the job.
