white buffalo robes

I was speaking to someone who said they were gifted 4 white buffalo robes/skins.
Does this sound accurate?
I mentioned it to another person who said they didn't think that was true.

Since white buffaloes are pretty rare, it doesn't sound real believeable to me.

There was one in NM that was spray painted by a Trader. Said it was for the tourist to see what one looked like. frederica
