For a small consideration there is a special tent for the children during the hours in which you follow the teachings. Enthusiastic volunteers receive the children and take care of their special programs. There is love and care for the very small ones and the elderly kids from 3-4 years old are being kept interested with all kind of activities like the creation of a power-object, dressing up like an Indian...

 :o :o :o

I'm not making fun of the author's English but some of it's hilarious (http://www.shamanisticteachings.org/uk/index.htm):

Dancing Thunder=Grand Sachem and Chief of the Susquehannock of Flordia. Suppose to be State Recognized Tribe and Church. I don't think they have existed for over 200 years. http://www.oheyo.org    Website not working.  http://www.indianz.com/board/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=8140                                         They are not listed on the 500 Nations site as a state recognized tribe. I not sure they really exist.  frederica

"Kunsal Kassapa was born in Granollers, Northern Spain. He is mentioned as a Shamanistic Monk and is called a Lama. He connects shamanism with boeddhism. As an Alchemist he is busy with the manifestation of the material. His teachers are Masters in Burma. This is the first time in the Netherlands that Kunsal Kassapa will share his knowledge. His teachings will be in English"

Mentioned as a monk? Called a lama? As an alchemist? Maybe that explains it all.

"Jorge Nopaltzin Guadarrama has been born in Mexico-city. His wisdom has been passed on from generation to generation. His insight and knowledge about the spiritual life and healing methods of the Aztec are acknowledged far beyond the frontiers of Mexico."

OK, that name is unintentionally funny. A nopal is a cactus, stripped of thorns, that is sold as food, usually eaten with scrambled eggs.

So his name actually translates George "Cactus Omelet" Guadarrama.

Outside of this site, every other site with his name is in German. Even the Spanish version of that website is no longer available.

Wait a minute, found one in Italian, where he appeared at a psychic convention.
http://web.mac.com/mdonofrio/iWeb/www.chezmax.eu/Maxlog.ch/45CED764-DC34-42E9-B839-1D70FC8A8317.html
Here's the google translation:
"The spiritual, sciamano healer and musician Jorge Nopaltzin Guadarrama are born in Mexico in 1945 and learn the traditional techniques of the Teocally school.  Jorge To. Kokopelli Guadarrama will come to the Psi-tage with its son."

Kokopelli? Enough said.

But probably the funniest thing on the site is the middle aged white woman in what she probably imagines is some kind of "tribal" tank top.

Actually they were from Northern Maryland, across Pa, to Southern New York. They as a Nation no longer exist, but there is probably some Susquehannok's out there mixed with Lenape' or Seneca. Many were just wiped out by the diseases brought in. frederica

I would like to know more about this "chief Dancing Thunder".

Hollands best known "shaman" has even dedicated one of her books to him. I was shocked to find out the last members of the Susquehannoktribe died in the 18th century. And it only took me one click in google to find out!

I found a long interview with this man in Dutch in which he states that all people in Holland have some Susquehannok blood, because of Dutch immigrants returning to Holland ??? :o

I even heard about Dutch people who believe they are reincarnated Susquehannock

He organises sweat lodges en teaches classical knowledge and traditional wisdom and blablabla............

There are different "tribes" in Holland now, all related to the Susquehannocktribe in Florida, one of those is the "Eagle tribe" which organises a course to loose weight "in a shamanic way". ;D

Need I say more?

Chief Dancing Thunder pops up every once in a while, mostly on CD's makes some kind of 'shamanistic chants',  Mostly in Europe. No longer has website that I can find. The Susquehannock were pretty much wiped out by disease in the early 1600's, they had little to do with colonist, And what was left of them that didn't flee to other Nations were killed by colonist in the mid-1600's. You may find Lenape, Tuscarora, Onieda or the Oklahoma Seneca with some Susquehannock blood, but unless the Dutch took the women and children back, which I have my doubts, I wouldn't count on it. Plus, if I not mistaken the English pushed the Dutch into the New York area.  There might be a couple, be mighty thin, but overall sounds like another fantasy.

Seems like the Susquehannock "tribe" is now openly saying they're just about spirchul stuff, vague knockoffs of Lakota beliefs.

http://alabamasusqtribe.org/
"most of the original tribe of Susquehannock either died in battles between 1615 & 1676 , or died in a smallpox epidemic in 1661. Some Susquehannock escaped death by escaping and joining with the Meherrin Tribe in North Carolina."

So why not join the Meherrin?

"The  Susquehannock of today was reformed by direct descendants of the original Susquehannock."

That would them, at best, people with a quantum of perhaps 1/4024, by my count, assuming one generation is 30 years. Even intermarrying as much as they could without causing birth defects wouldn't raise the quantum to more than maybe 1/256.

"Principal Chief Piercing Eyes Pen, a direct descendant of the Susquehannock, had a vision and began to band people together that wanted to walk a true path of the people. When  Principal Chief  Piercing Eyes Pen retired he passed his position on to Principal Chief Dancing Thunder Oquendo, who now resides in the Netherlands."

Can't say much for his judgement if he ran off to sell ceremonies to Europeans.

"Today there are several Tribes of Susquehannock scattered throughout Turtle Island . There is a known tribe in Florida, Oklahoma, Ohio and Alabama."

This is the first I've heard outside of FL. Anyone else?

"The Alabama Branch of the Susquehannock Tribe/Church of Native Spirituality was established in 1976. We are affiliated with the Pan American Indian Association and have been recognized by the federal government to operate as a Tribal Church."

Uh, no, the feds don't recognize tribal churches. Or any churches, except for tax exemption, which the ST of AL don't mention.

"It was decided that we would not affiliate ourselves with the bureaucratic scrutiny of any Federal or State Indian Affairs Associations  (i.e.: BIA, etc.) , we are dedicated to practicing a true Native American Spiritual Path."

Gee, it wouldn't have a thing to do with not being able to get recognized...

"Our Principal Chief, Grand Sachem Clifton Running Wolf Belcher, who was appointed Principal Chief in 1997, by Chief Piercing Eyes Penn, had a vision and organized our tribal structure to insure that the principals  of our ancestors would be taught and practiced in our daily walk."

Chiefs by appointment, and not election?

"The head of  the White side of our Tribe, the Medicine Society, is Shaman Rod Bear Tree Fulton, D.D., who oversees the Spiritual teachings of the Tribe. A Pipe Keeper is available to ensure Protection and Proper Knowledge concerning the use of the Sacred Prayer Pipe. The Red side of the Tribe is headed by our Vice-Principal Chief Edwin Lone Elk Metzger."

And their membership application includes:

"Ceremonial Name:

(*** If you want our Shaman to assist in choosing a name, please write a few lines about yourself on a separate sheet of paper to aid in selection. ***)

(  )  Would you be willing to donate additional monies to aid us in helping our Brothers and Sisters that are incarcerated so they are able to learn their heritage.                        Amount:  ________________

Is it OK to share your address and phone number with others you may find to be helpful?

(  ) Yes                     (  ) No

Complete & Mail Application To:

Alabama Branch of the Susquehannock Tribe

 P.O Box 445
 Woodstock, Al 35188

(Please use the back of this application to tell us about yourself, including spiritual beliefs and practices)"

And a little more from the chiefs and the shaman:

"Another honor was bestowed upon me in April of 2006. I was appointed as the Alabama State Coordinator for the Pan American Indian Association. Chief White Bear of the PAIA, has given me much advice on important issues....We are the only Tribe, that I am aware of on Turtle Island, that has designed written lesson plans that teach about our heritage."

Talk about out of touch. Someone send him a catalog from Dine College.

"From Shaman Rod Bear Tree Fulton D.D."

DDS is a dentist. What's DD?

"Unseen Powers provided us knowledge, visions. We immediately placed positive energy in our walk to fulfill our intention. Thus the formation of a Tribe/Church that actually uses as its foundation Medicine for Spiritual Progress up the Tree of Life to become more like the Creator."

"From Vice-Principal Chief Edwin Lone Elk Metzger
When I first joined the Alabama Branch of the Susquehannock Tribe/Church of Native Spirituality, I truly did not know what to expect. After 50 plus years of trying to gain some balance in my life with the deluge of every day life and some semblance of a positive Christian life, I had almost given up hope. Then the Creator guided me to this tribe. Although I have some blood quantum, (my  grandmother was full blooded Iroquois), I had never practiced or even been associated with the Native American Culture."

And the PAIA that their chief brags about:

http://www.lovinghandsinstitute.com/htm/paia.htm
"The Pan American Indian Association is not an Indian Tribe. We have no ties with the Bureau of Indian Affairs or any other tribal authority. We are people from all walks of life. Metis/mixed-blood, Indigenous Americans who have awakened to our tribal Spirit that is calling us home.

Our members are of many different tribal heritages. When one chooses to become a PAN AMERICAN INDIAN, they must Honor and Walk the Twelve Point Pledge, respect the laws local, state, federal. PAIA is for those who have tried to enroll into their ancestral tribe and for whatever reason have been denied and individuals who have felt the calling of the Ancient Turtle Lodge. All are welcomed into the Pan American Indian Association, as Brothers and Sisters.

We have our own 'Medicine Path Ways', inclusive to all who choose to share with us. We have our own Spiritual Leader and Spiritual Counselors, certified by our Council of Elders. We celebrate the Sacred Pipe, Asi (sweatlodge) the teachings of Grandmother Moon the cycles of Life, weddings, Cleansing/Blessing of Home, Namings, Funeral, etc. We have not taken from our Elder Relatives, we have UNITED, to Honor our ancestors with regard to who we are, Metis American Indians."

The PAIA's founder:

"DR. ROSALIND SKYHAWK OJALA, D.D., ICMT.
Dr. Ojala
Founder, Administrative Director and State Authorized Instructor for Loving Hands Institute.
She is an Interdenominational Minister and Sacred Pipe Carrier of Native American and European Ancestry and Principal Chief of the Pan American Indian Association Thunderbird Clan of Redwood River Lodge.
Skyhawk has been an ABMP certified Massage Therapist since 1974 and has taught and facilitated classes in the Advanced Healing Arts and Holistic Health Education since 1969. She has held a California State Authorized Teaching Credential in Massage Therapy since 1982.
In 1976, she helped open and was Head Supervisor of the Massage Therapy Staff and a Physical Therapy Aide at the Physical Therapy Center in Mill Valley, CA, where she worked in association with Donald Stutzman, R.P.T., a Registered Physical Therapist. Skyhawk also worked as a Physical Therapy Aide with Don Stutzman at Rafael Convalescent Hospital in San Rafael, CA, from 1976 through 1979 in the Physical Therapy Department.
Skyhawk is a Professional member of ABMP Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals; the International Clergy Association; a Lifetime Member of the Pan American Indian Association; Four Worlds Development Network, and the Pipestone Indian Shrine Association."

Someone in the health field correct me if I'm wrong. She was a masseuse and a physical therpay aide. Why is she claiming the title of doctor?

There's more than one PAIA, and I'm not sure if the one in CA is the same the Alabama bunch was talking about. Found one in FL.

Also one from another group calling itself Whirling Rainbow.
http://groups.msn.com/WhirlingRainbow/paiaupdate.msnw
"May 4, 04 will mark the 20th Anniversary of the Pan-American Indian Assoc. Many had said that a Mixed-blood Native American Indian organization would never work or last, our coming anniversary tells another story. The hard contest has tempered our metal and is the source of our strength....

7-15-05 - Whirling Rainbow (PAIA NEWS) Vol. 21, No. 2 is temporarily out of print. Church members and Whirling Rainbow (PAIA NEWS) subscribers i.e. Universities/College's, Library's, other Native-Natural organizations (exchange publications) will receive this notification in the near future.

Thank you FLIES WITH SUN, love, light, Blessings Be. Your support is very much appreciated. And has allowed for the mailing of the PAIA NEWS 'temporarily out of print notice'. Thank You - the Elders Council

Dear Brothers and Sisters

This Brother-Sisterhood was established in 1984 and is a Federal/State recognized Native American Church; we support locally Elder Care, the Women & Children Shelter, Soup Kitchen, Adopt-A-Road and a Native-Natural Prison Outreach for Native Practitioner’s.

The Whirling Rainbow is a gratuitous church publication and is temporarily out of print. Currently there are no available church funds to publish the bulletin. Be patient, when the necessary funds become available every old and new member, non-member, university/college, institutionalized person subscribers will receive their subscription.

Many times in our history we have suffered through such poverty and we have always been blessed and have rebounded and resumed publication. The church receives NO FUNDS from Government or Corporate Grants, etc., we rely totally on member sponsorship and when member support is lacking it reflects in what your church is able to do.

Pan-American Indian Association Peer-Patron Members share equally and responsibly in the growth and future of this Brother-Sisterhood. Please contact this office if you have any questions.

Sincerely
PAIA"

I just had a long talk with one of the organisers of a 'susquehannock sweatlodge' here in Holland and aksed about Dancing Thunders background.
All he could tell me was that D T is member of AIM.
(and he did not care about non existing tribes, because D T's teaching "are wonderfull!")

In don't know anything about native Americans, I'm just a woman from the Netherlands who has studies 'core shamanism' for about 7 years, and I have never even been near to a sweatlodge or anything of the kind. So here's the stupit question: What does it mean to be member of AIM?

Found a website in English:

CHIEF DANCING THUNDER

Medicine Man
&
Principal Chief of the Susquehannock

“We are spiritual entities with a material body,
not the other way round???.

Ralph Dancing Thunder Oquendo is a medicine man and Principal Chief of the Susquehannock tribe of Florida. He has worked as a healer, teacher and medicine man for over 30 years. Dancing Thunder leads sweat lodge rituals and spirit boat journeys, and is a teacher of the medicine wheel rituals and healing methods. Dancing Thunder has great dignity, fantastic humour and tremendous knowledge. His teachings are based on authentic traditional knowledge, directly passed on and down through family and ancestry. He was chosen on this basis to assist in the retrieval of lost knowledge in North America and Europe. Because of this traditional family background he is known as a “Man of Knowledge???.

Dancing Thunder was born into a family of healers and “Men and Women of Knowledge???. His grandmother was a medicine woman and his father a “Man of Knowledge???. Dancing Thunder is the founder of “Dreamtime Healing??? and Chairman of the “Foundation of the Medicine Way???. He has been adopted by the Shoshone and is a member of the “Pan-American Indian Association???.

Recently, Dancing Thunder released his CD “Full Moon???, a recording of drumming and voices based on the authentic tribal Susquehannock medicine wheel. The CD is available from the label Singing Frog Music & Media at www.singingfrog.com.

I first met Dancing Thunder when I had been invited by Wai Turoa-Morgan to a sacred workshop in Holland in 2004. I was immediately fascinated by his way of teaching, and the fact that he lives exactly what he teaches. Since then, I have learnt many, many things from him, medicine wheel teachings, sweat lodge rituals and spirit boat journeys. I have been adopted by the Susquehannock, and given the name “Holds Blue Fire???.

And on another page:
( This lady is the representative of the 'susquehannock tribe' in the Netherlands,  her emailadress bounces so she can't answer my questions )

BLUE STAR

Healer & Medium

Margareta Blue Star Bakker is a healer and transpersonal medium. She studied psychology and music at the conservatory of Amsterdam. Through her visions, she met Dancing Thunder, medicine man and Chief of the Susquehannock tribe of Florida, in 1991. Blue Star has been adopted by the Susquehannock tribe as well as the Cherokees. She works as a spiritual teacher in Holland, Germany and Spain. In her work, she also uses sound therapy and bio-resonance therapy, and she can give readings if requested. In addition, Blue Star leads sweat lodge rituals and is an experienced fire woman. In 2003, she had a vision to focus on women to help them in expanding to their true potential. Her workshops “The Medicine Wheel for Women??? and “Personal Medicine of Women??? are the enlightening result. Blue Star has a sensitive way of dealing with others, and through her great humour and spiritual abilities her workshops are both enjoyable and enriching.

Zia, most AIM members would tell you this means they have a lifelong committment to defending Native traditions and people, and doing so AGAINST people like Oquendo.

This is too funny. There is also a Ralph Oquendo who says he is a martial arts master.

http://www.bushidojapaneseswords.com/aboutus.htm

There was also a Ralph Oquendo who was a member of the Diggdoctors, a Nuagey group that knocked off ideas about Australian Aborigines.

http://dreamtime-didjeriduw3server.com/discography/DRxxxx/DR0033.html
"The Diggdoctors are Ralph Oquendo, Late Wolf (M.Bakker) & Rasta Robert. The music is not simply music; rather it is the accompaniment or vehicle for a 'Dreamtime', a gathering of up to 40 people with the intention of entering into altered states to experience their personal dreamtime.
Reviewer:
The Concert - some notes from the players... (snipped a bit). The jump into the Dreamtime... you can actually hear the exact moment the players make the link and jump into the Dreamtime. First you hear clapsticks randomly. The players are using the sound to follow a dreamtrack (altered state). Then suddenly you will hear, at the exact same moment, all the sticks come down together and begin a complex synchronized rhythm; welcome to the Dreamtime. The story-telling then starts with one Shaman traveling until he meets another. They converse in animal-voices, and then there is another. They travel deep into the Dreamtime. (...)the deep rhythmic tunes of Rasta Robert's yidaki and the hypnotic tunes of Late Wolf, building an intensive web of sound. Shamanic voices(...) Both the yidaki and the human voice can 'sing' overtones or cosmic tones. (...) Calling the Whales(...) You hear them calling and then you can actually feel the rhythm of their gigantic bodies. Feel them coming and talking in their huge overtone voices. The Ice Age Hunters. With the bells we are suddenly out and running across the Ice Age tundra's. You hear the hunters call to one another with the voices of the Animal Powers they hunt. Songs from the Heart From the Hunt to the Camp drums and the song of welcome. A song to 'the Four Directions'. An honest and true voice. Then :Celebration!(...)a very virtuoso solo on the yidaki where Ralph Oquendo singles out only the overtones of his yidaki to imitate the human voice. (...) Then Intrusion carries us back to our starting place to complete the circle."

Spirit boat journey seems to be something from one of the core shamanism people, a Francis Caufield in Britain. Basically it's breathing and chanting with a bunch of instruments playing.

http://www.franciscaulfield.com/ceremony.html
"Think of it as a Spirit Boat Journey with the boat a metaphor for the community.

The participants gather together within a ceremonial circle, with me in the center as facilitator. Each participant creates an intention for their journey, which they breathe into their heart. Through the application of conscious breathing, sound healing instruments and toning (see below), a higher dimensional energy field or vortex is created within each individual and within the circle or group energy field, so that we as a group, may commune more powerfully and directly with our God-Self, power animals, guardian spirits and ancestors.

With access to the omnipresent Source of Light and Love established within the circle, a paradigm shift occurs within the cellular consciousness, as the harmonic sounds activate the God seed within the DNA code. The overall benefits are profound and unique to each person covering the areas of Spiritual Awakening, Personal Transformation, and Holistic Healing, which provides for a uplifting and healing effect within the local community as well as to the planetary consciousness.

The Sacred Sound Ceremony/Spirit Boat Journey is composed of three sequential phases.

1) Severance: During the first phase, we sever our relationship to the world, as we know it. The mechanical, repetitive internal dialogue that describes and interprets our reality is dissolved. Our attention is drawn away from the collective trance of separateness and alienation and enters a pleasurable state of conscious dreaming, a place in between sleeping and waking. Once the internal dialogue is sufficiently dissolved, the body begins to breath deeply and fully, as if it is being breathed by universal breath. The hidden nature of the body as a portal or gateway to spiritual worlds is revealed, leading to the next phase.

2) Threshold Crossing: During this phase, a radical shift occurs to the assemblage point, a shamanic phrase that describes a movement away from a closed, localized perceptual field and into a open, multi-dimensional and inter-dimensional field of perception. This provides for a nourishing and nurturing communion with our God Essence and for communication with our power animals, guardian spirits and ancestors.

3) Incorporation & Return: This last phase involves the incorporation of the light body into the physical body and for the integration and understanding of communications with the invisible world. This marks our re-entry into the world of ordinary reality, now though infused with the qualities, visions and cellular transformations induced by the harmonics, overtones and the sacred geometry inherent within sound."

The Minuteman Project is not a chartered organization with official membership or corporate officers.  It is not a militia, or a band of vigilantes, and literally has no organizational structure.
The Minuteman Project is a state of mind representing Americans with mutual concerns about the systematic and deliberate dismantling of a once cohesive nation whose imminent future is literally in a state of emergency."

They've long made dubious claims not to be racist, but their appeal is based on racist arguments. Gilchrist has been repeatedly exposed as a racist by the Southern Poverty Law Center. For example:

Researching I find it necessary to stand united with my Brothers and Sisters of those religions/spiritualities i.e. Buddist, Christendom, Judean, Hindu, Native-Natural, Wicca, etc. in this hard contest for True Peace On Earth. To stand by and do nothing is actually 'doing something'. A 'not doing' is silently supporting a 'Cult of Death'. A 'religious IDEOLOGY' that seeks your 'submission' and or death. A 'religious IDEOLOGY', a way of life that is contrary to the peace it proclaims to exalt. A 'religious IDEOLOGY' that is contrary to all spiritual goodwill of peaceful enlightening ways taught by other beautiful religious/spiritual ideologies found throughout the world.

QUESTION: WHY! do we Americans have to change our culture to accomodate a group of individuals' (Muslim) whether native born and/or immigrants whose ideology is 'ANTI-AMERICAN & HOSTILE'?"

Elsewhere on the site they link to the PAIA led by Ojala. So they are branches of the same group.

In Holland we have the expression "mag ik een teiltje!"
This means: bring me a basin, I have to puke!

This is getting worse and worse.

I'm thinking of writing an article or letter about this and see if I can get it published in one of the Dutch 'spiritual' magazines.
Where could I get some kind of official backup for my statements about this nonexistent tribe?

I may be able to help a little bit. I not sure how it will be accepted as the people you are dealing with are into pop culture and reincarnation. I can just give you some hard core facts. The Alabama Branch of the Susquehannock Tribe, Church of Spirituality was extablished, according to them in 1984. They are neither Federal or State Recognized as an Indian Tribe and never will be. They do not even come close. The Federal Recognition consists of a Tribe that has been in the area with a political, cultural, and social base since the 1700's. The State Recognition varies, some state since the 1900's due to the Removal Act. This makes this group, and the one in Flordia not eligable to sell any goods as Indian made. It would have to be Indian Style. They may be listed as a Church not only because of their affiliations with this Universal Life Church group, or for tax purposes. I cannot find that they are a 501c3 non-profit group. The Susquehannock as a Nation and due to their circumstances in the 1600's were unable to maintain their culture and traditions. They were taken into other Nations. Unfortunately as a Nation they cease to exist. It looks a pretty shakey claim. But someone else may have something to add. Enclose sites for Recognition status.  Hope this helps a little .                                                                                                                                                                                                  http://www.ncai.org/Tribal_Directory.3.0.html                                                                                                                http://www.yvwiiusdinvnohii.net/govlaw/FederalRecognition25CFR83.htm                                                                                            http://www.500nations.com/tribes/Tribes_States.asp

In this old Dutch landscape of forests, fields, oak-walls and nostalgic farms we will find a special feeling of peace. The Hondsrug came into being during the last Ice Age. Here you will still find the cairns, dolmens, cromlechs and many huge ‘travelling stones’.

This Institute is the place for special educations like energetic therapist, therapist of children and many workshops for personal transformation and development. Most of the Shamans in The Teachings, also participate in the training program for Shamanistic Healer “The Healing Practices of the World???.

The Team

The Shamanistic Teachings is a non-commercial initiative and is possible thanks to the volunteers which includes the staff. Founder of this initiative is Kitty Haccou, who is also responsible for the Institute of Energy-work. " 'Dancing Thunder Ralph Oquendo is medicine man and chief of the Susquehannock Indians in Florida. Since more than 30 years, he works as a healer, teacher, and medicine man and leads sweatlodges, spirit boat travels, and does traditional teachings on medicine wheel and healing. Due to his family background rich in tradition, he is a "man of knowledge". Dancing Thunder inspires by his magnanimity, fantastic humour, and his vast knowledge. His teachings base on authentic, traditional knowledge passend on by the ancestors. Dancing Thunder has been chosen to take lost knowledge back to Europe.'
Did you mean something like this? He comes to Europe on and off to do workshops."

The Medicine Wheel "The Path of the Hunter"
Part I and II: March 11/12, 2008
Part III and IV: May 31 - June 1, 2008
The medicine wheel is a symbol for the wheel of life which keeps on turning and producing new lectures, truths, and wisdoms on our path in life. Dancing Thunder teaches these traditional teachings and how the individual can discover his very own personal medicine wheel. In each direction, there are totems, colours, symbols, sounds, ancestors, and medicine. With this knowledge, every participant can develop their own spirituality. Dancing Thunder has much magnanimity, a fantastic humour, and a vast knowledge.

Indian Evening
March 13, 2008
During this Indian Evening with Dancing Thunder, we will listen to the sound of the drum and travel into the spirit or otherworld. It is about symbols, totems, and colours of the visions we may meet. With colours we will paint our own symbols and totems on the ground. Then we will move within the energy
around them and merge with them. This way, they will become our own medicine which makes us strong.

The Teachings for the Advanced
"3 Stone Ritual" & Spirit Calling Stone Ritual"
June 3 & 4, 2008
The Teachings of the Advance is for participants already having completed the four main rituals of the medicine wheel teachings and the healing methods programme. Since learning never stops, these teachings continue the wisdoms of the medicine wheel rituals. Part of the teachings is the de-animation, a very deep state of consciousness during which the body is in deep rest, i.e. is de-animated. By de-animation, one can do dream travels for very long periods of time. Dancing Thunder has much magnaninimity, a fantastic humour, and a vast knowledge.

Sweatlodge rituals
This traditional Indian ritual brings unqiue experience. It is a completion of the medicine wheel as well as an experience in itself. It is also the authentic way how one shares knowledge and wisdom in a tribe. Sweatlodge rituals are done under a motto, as e.g. Deer Lodge, Three Eagles Lodge, Bear Lodge etc. Dancing Thunder teacher the knowledge with a great humour and carries us with his voice and his drum."

Women's meeting
October 11&12, 2008
During this women's meeting, we will discover the enormous potential to which we have access. We can use the energies of moon, earth, water, and fire. Contents will also comprise outdoor and indoor rituals, talks, dance as well as our femininity and beauty.

Blue Star, healer & medium
Women's initiation
October 14&15, 2008
During this weekend, we will go again through our own process of coming into being. We connect ourselves to the water, we dive in to transform the moment of our conception. We will unite in a beautiful initiation ritual of femininity into a sisterhood of human being. We discover to be the source and our connection to all beauty. We learn how we are connected to the phases of the moon, how to use moon energy and to make moon medicine ourselves."

http://www.bluejay.eu/German/Shamans/Dancing%20Thunder.htm
This site repeats the above personal info on Dancing Thunder, so I won't repeat it in length (another aspect is that frequent typing descriptions of his 'wonderful magnaninimity' will make me freak out...)

There's two additional paragraphs:
"Dancing Tunder has published the CD 'Full Moon'. It is a recording of drumming and voices basing on the traditional medicine wheel of the Susquehannock. The CD can be obtained at www.singingfrog.com.

I meet Dancing Thunder for the first time in Holland in 2004 when I was invited to a workshop by Wai Turoa-Morgan. This workshop taught sacred knowledge. I was at once fascinated by his way of teaching and the fact that he lives exactly what he teaches. Since then, I learned many things from him in teachings about the medicine wheel, in sweatlodge rituals, and during spirit boat travels. I am adopted by the Susquehannock and have the name of 'Holds Blue Fire'."

Here's the site of a person claiming Dancing Thunder as a teacher:

"Clearing, coaching, family constellation, family councelling, hypnosis therapy, Indian [as in: Native American] Chakra healing (Personal Totem Pole Process©), life councelling, partnership councelling and therapy, radiesthetics, organisational constellation, reiki, shamanism, dream work, vision quest"

Apparently, Amara has been on TV, as she mentions to be known from two private-owned TV stations, an offers courses in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. She also says: "From now on, there will be a cooperation with the book 'The Secret'" which made me wonder how one cooperates with a
book.... She promises: "... and I am there for you as a trainer to coach you so that you at last will be successful". We may suspect that if and when a client does not become successful, the remedy recommended may be another course and another...

Amara describes her trainings:
"Apprenticeship as a bank clerc, several additional trainings in marketing, bookkeeping, rhethorics, design. Then a complete turn-around. Trainings in the field of anti-stress, studying Lenormand cards on my own, became a Reiki teacher, shamanic training over several years, training as a hypnosis teacher [...]
I want you to leave happier than you arrived. Your success is also my success. I see your potential and we will work from there. Step by step, until you master your life successfully."

Listed as 'Further trainings' are the following qualifications:
"Training as a seminar leader Autogenic Training and muscle relaxation, training as a Reiki teacher, shamanic training (2 years shamanism according to Michael Harner), another two years' traning with an indigenous shaman (Ailo Gaup), Dancing Thuner, Galsan Tschinag [sic], Wai Turoa Morgan and
others) [sic], workshops with Brandon Bay's 'The Journey'."

Wai Turoa Morgan claims to be a Maori elder and shaman. From her photo, she's mixedblood at best.

In fact one site lists her only as "of Maori descent."

I don't claim to know much about Maori traditions, but at least some of what she sells is not Maori.

At last I had a talk with this lady. ( I called her, for she never called back)

She said several things:
There is an unwritten history, that can not be found in history books. Many people seem to know they are of Susquehannock descent and also remember their family history, like some of their ancestors went to Holland with the returning Dutch ships in the 17th century.
This lady claims she has a list of 4000 names of people of known Susquehannock origin and she gets emails weekly from people telling her about their Susquehannock roots, always kept secret for outsiders.
The tribe is registered in Florida and she could not explain to me the difference between a church and a tribe like hers.
She also told me she has met with Ralf Oquendo's family herself and that they held ceremonies in their house.
I forgot to ask her where Mr Oquendo learned to lead sweat lodges and all, she just told me he was born a medicine man and his father was a healer too.

So now I'm waiting for her to proof some of her story by showing me this list and emails..........

She sounded very convincing and I can't make out if she is just a very good lier or if she really believes all this crap herself

Hi everyone.

First off, I know I have not posted here much, I've mostly been lurking, and I know this thread is old as hell but I figured I could contribute.

I have met mr. Oquendo and can confirm that the guy who does she Shamanstic Teachings stuff is the same as the martial arts instructor. I have not attended any of his Shamanism workshops or anything, but he is indeed a fine instructor of kendo. My dojo (which is now disbanded) was somehow affiliated with his, so he came by as a guest sensei occasionally, and I believe some members of my dojo trained with him as well.

Anyway my own trainer mentioned his shamanic stuff and linked me to the website, although, like I said, I never attended their events.

I do recall him mentioning an incident that involved Oquendo and a handful of others randomly showing up at his house to perform some kind of ceremony. He described this Blue Star woman as particularly whacked out.

From what I've seen of Oquendo myself (which was only 1-2 classes of kendo I think) he seemed like a gentle, humble guy who swings a shinai with some lightning speed! (Making Dancing Thunder a pretty apt name) but he didn't bring up anything related to Native American spirituality or shamanism as far as I remember. He spoke with an American accent and although in a video that's been posted here there is definitely somewhat of a Dutch accent shining through here and there, I'm not exactly sure if I noticed that when I met him in person or if my memories are slightly distorted when I say that I did.

In any case, I hope that helped somewhat. If this guy is a fraud I'd like to know. Friends of mine are involved with him so.

Edit: typing properly on a phone with a cracked screen is hard

The Montana project
Since 2009 the Montana project initiated. The Montana project is initiated as a way to bring back the original teachings and ceremonies in their full strength to the native people who are willing. It is seen as a part of fulfilling the prophecies as transferred by the Algonquian prophets. That now is the time to bring back these ancient wisdom and start to live in more harmonic way with the Earth. It is now needed more then ever.

The group in Florida's page hasn't been updated since 2016. Still no sign of them in the other three states.

SUSQUEHANNOCK & SOCIETIES

Today's Susquehannock have been re-formed as direct descendants of the original Susquehannock.

[…]
"Today there are scattered over Turtle Island several tribes of the Susquehannock.
These tribes live in Florida, Oklahoma,  Ohio and in Alabama. "

All of the above is in glaring contrast to what is claimed by another group that is under investigation right now (my bolding in quotes, both above and below):

ABOUT THE SUSQUEHANNOCK TRIBE OF AMERICAN INDIANS

The Susquehannock people were American Indians who lived in areas adjacent to the Susquehanna River and its tributaries from the southern part of what is now New York, through Pennsylvania, to the mouth of the Susquehanna in Maryland. They are the first humans to be  acknowledged in any written account of the Susquehanna Valley. John Smith, who helped establish the first English Colony in Virginia, noted the presence of the Susquehannocks in his journal upon his arrival in the New World.

Though the Susquehannocks were Iroquoian-like in speech, they were actually affiliated with the Algonquins. They established their towns along the branches of the Susquehanna because the waters facilitated travel and trade in the region and provided the Susquehannocks with a constant supply of fish and water.

None of the Susquehannock’s language has been preserved.

The Belize Fund is located on ground that is believed to be near the northernmost reaches of Susquehannock migration. The Susquehannock peoples were devastated in the Eighteenth Century by infectious disease and warfare.
