FindNewHope.com and 28 Grandfathers
« on: October 08, 2011, 02:25:35 pm »
This site seems to be tied to or sponsoring quite a few dubious characters. Go to the home page and you see these:

Financial Hope
Freedom from Debt Slavery
Ways to Make More Money

Spiritual Hope
Four Rivers Native American Church
Oklevueha Native American Church
Oklevueha NAC of Nemenhah
Orthodox Order of Saint Anna

 Health & Wellness Hope
Clinical Hypnotherapy
Speak Cherokee Language Instruction
Even Heaven Falls Apart

Oklehuevah is James Mooney's bunch. Quite afew links on him in here, on his fraud passing itself off as part of the NAC.
We also have threads on the dangerous frauds Nemenhah, led by a convicted con artist.
Four Rivers "NAC" is a "church" run by Brian Wilkes, who we have a research thread on.
The Speak Cherokee link is a Wilkes business venture.

Even Heaven Falls Apart leads us to some Nuage weirdness, claims about the Cherokees and 2012. My admittedly limited understanding of Cherokee tradition is that there are bits of it he's saying that are true mixed with a whole lots of falsehoods and Nuagey claims.

When the World Ends in 2012,
Will You Be Ready?
The world as we know it ends in December 2012.
A new world begins for those who are ready.

....If you've recently felt that time is speeding up, you weren't just imagining it, you were perceiving fractal acceleration of the quantum timewave.

....Time until the dawn of the Sixth World: 440 Days, 21 Hours, 34 Minutes, 46 Seconds.

....While it has fallen into disuse, replaced by the modern Gregorian calendar, there is a traditional Cherokee calendar. In fact, it is 22 overlapping calendars. While it is clearly a descendant of the calendars that were used by the Mayan, Aztec, and perhaps Olmec peoples of Central America, it differences from these reveal the 'otherness' of Cherokee culture and thought.

Called in Cherokee the "Sun-Moon Count," it combines astronomical observations with cycles that have no apparent correlation to anything in this physical world.

....The science of genetics shows that all humans today are descended from a small band who survived the destruction of the First World about 138,000 years ago. We may even be descended from a common ancestress, dubbed "Paleolithic Eve".

We are currently ending the Fifth World, and awaiting the start of the Sixth. The 'due date' for the labor pains of the Sixth World is December 23, 2012. We are currently in the seven year period of 'crazy weather' preceding 2012, with ever stronger volcanic, seismic, gravitational and even solar disturbances anticipated. According to the Calendar, we could even expect our non-human neighbors to reveal themselves in late 2008.

Some nations keep detailed prophecies extending into the 26th century. There is even a predicted a Seventh World....

Global Warming... Earth Changes... Financial Crises...New Diseases... Terror and Permanent War...

The Ancestors saw it coming, and left a plan.

We are all made of stars. In Cherokee belief, the departed souls arise into the sky to become stars, and it is from stars that souls come to earth to be born as children. The planets, stars, and constellations, the "Star People" showing at the birth of a child explain his or her strengths and weaknesses and destiny's role for that individual. The link between the People and the stars is so strong that it's even claimed that our ancestors came to earth "from the Pleiades."

With major calendrical cycles ending in 2011 and 2012, there is increasing confusion and apprehension about what it means. Global warming. Earth Changes. Financial Crises. New Diseases. Permanent War. Is it the end of the world? Has the end of the world been rescheduled?

While these overlapping calendars clearly derive from the same sources as the Mayan and Aztec calendars (no surprise, since Cherokee oral history says our ancestors migrated northwards from and through those lands) there are significant differences of interpretation and symbolism that give a uniquely Cherokee perspective.

Sincerely,
Brian Wilkes

The 28 Grandfathers bunch include many dubious characters and some others that still need more research.

----------
http://findnewhope.com/28grandfathers/meet.htm
Grandfather Ruben Aguirre (Gabrielino/Tongva Tribe of San Gabriel)

[Needs more research]

Grandfather Angaangaq Angakkorsuaq (Greenlandic Inuit)
Angaangaq Angakkorsuaq ("He Looks Like His Uncle") is a healer, storyteller and drum carrier. “Uncle” is a Greenlandic Elder whose family belongs to the traditional healers of Kalaallit Nunaat. He conducts healing circles, intensives, and sweat lodges rooted in the wisdom of the oral healing traditions of his people. He was called by his people to bring home the Sacred Fire to Greenland.
In July 2009 Elders from several nations brought back the fire ceremony and sweat lodge ceremony to Greenland, where they have not been performed for centuries for lack of wood. Now the trees are once again growing as prophecy predicted; a prophecy that foretells a day when Greenland will be forested once again.www.icewisdom.com

[We have a thread on Angaangaq.]

Grandfather Joe Beltran (San Carlos Apache) served in the US Army during the Cold War. He was a truck driver and a member of the Teamsters for 30 years. While in Southern California, he and his wife Gloria along with fellow Apaches formed a West Coast Apacheria, with the goal to keep Apache traditions and culture alive. They met on a regular basis and shared what information they had of family histories and stories handed down by their Elders. In 2004, Gloria and Joe returned to her ancestral Warm Spring Apache roots in Pinos Altos, NM. They have been here since 2004 and have been actively involved with the Silver City Red Paint Powwow as Board Members of the Powwow Committee and members of the Red Paint Tribal Council.

[Red Paint TC is a group of San Carlos people in conflict with the elected tribal council, complaining of mistreatment and exclusion. See http://www.redpaintpeople.org/news.html]

 Grandfather Adam Yellowbird De Armon
[DeArmon is a fraud posing as Hopi, involved with one fraud group after another. See our threads on him.]

Grandfather Hemi Fox (Maori) Hemi Fox is Maori from Aotearoa-New Zealand. At the age of 7 his great-grandmother Hira Moewaka Kemp-Johnstone, chieftainness of the Kapotai tribe, initiated his passage into the realm of spirit and healing. She opened the appropriate channels and then left him with the challenge of finding out how to access and remember the ancient knowledge. In 1987 the Hawaiian Kahuna Abraham Kawai'i gave him a brief glimpse into the ancient Hawaiian bodywork traditions. The aboriginal elder, Gaboo Ted Thomas from Australia and the Hawaiian entrepreneur George Kanehale both played their significant roles in this process. After more than 30 years of school teaching, occasional healing work and ‘ghost busting’ jobs amongst the people of his tribe, it seemed time now to answer the call of Destiny. So he left the shores of his beloved homeland Aotearoa, left his family, his tribe and traveled to Denmark on a one-way ticket! From then on everything just started to happen in a way only the Spirit understands.

[Need more research on him.]

GrandfatherMark Anthony Gardiner (Maori) with Grandmother Roanna (Hopi) Mark Anthony Gardiner, of half Maori, half Pakeha descent, was born in Gisborne, New Zealand. A clairvoyant healer, he uses many alternative healing modalities in his practice including Reiki, Zenna, Wairua and Elohim healing.

[Need more research on him.]

Grandfather Forrest Liggett   Grandfather Wayne May (Cherokee) Wayne May, A Quah He Mi Agua, is Cherokee by birth and the historian of the Central Band of Cherokee, Lawrenceburg Tenn, serving under Chief Joe White. He is also publisher and owner of Ancient American Magazine, in print since 1993...

[The Central Band is a group of about 100 people who claim Jews are Cherokees and vice versa. There were even DNA tests done that prove almost none of them have any NDN ancestry and yet they still believe. Deluded, but not exploiters.]

Grandfather James Warren "Flaming Eagle" Mooney (Seminole) James WFE Mooney, a Seminole healer, descendant of both the famed Osceola and of Smithsonian anthropologist James Mooney, who was instrumental in establishing the legal status of the Native American Church. A member of the Oklevueha or Oklawaha Seminole community of Harjo Town, Florida, he now lives in Utah. He is a prominent roadman and teacher in the Native American Church.

[How many lies can he pack in one paragraph? He is NOT of the NAC and is reviled by them. He is NOT Seminole, and James Mooney is no one to be proud of being descended from. His court battle was incredibly destructive, opening up the NAC to all kinds of abuse. A fraud through and through.]

Grandfather Carlos Provencio (Chiricahua Apache) Carlos Provencio is a descendant of the Chihene Nde Warm Spring Band of the Chiricahua Apache . He has done grant making for the Campaign of Human Development, in Washington DC. Through the Industrial Areas Foundation he has created public policy and legislation that supported children, youth and families. In the city of Tucson, Arizona he has mobilized the development of youth recreation in the south side and has assisted with the process of targeting high drop-out rates and absenteeism of Native American children. In Silver City, NM, he has been the program coordinator for a Ford Foundation Grant that funded the development and support of community based forestry that created resources for small business development.

[Seems to be a good person, and honest enough to call himself a descendant. What's he doing with a collection of frauds? Does he just not realize who they are? It seems likely to me he is searching himself for answers.
This is also him. http://www.angelfire.com/nm/healingmotherearth/page4.html
"He has done personal growth work with Native American holy men/women and master teachers from India and Tibet. He has participated in Sun Dance Ceremonies and Vision Quests. He is a certified Reiki Master. His energy work includes rebirthing, emotional releasing, DNA activation, karmic cleansing (Hooponopono)and healing of Mother Earth."
Well, a community organizer who turned to just about every Nuage tradition, as well as either NDN traditions or imitations of them.]

Grandfather James "Two Crow" Schumacher AKA (especially to the IRS and other government agencies), is a child of Great Mystery, a recovering alcoholic/addict with more than 26 yeas of sobriety, a grandfather of three, a loving husband (married for more than 10 years to Athene), and a grateful walker on the Red Road. On this road he has led many purification lodge ceremonies and has participated in 29 Sun Dance ceremonies on the Blood Reserve in Alberta Canada and in the northwestern US. He is a retired oceanographer and environmental scientist...

[IOW, a white guy whose taken part in Sun Dances. That's it...]

Grandfather Shawn Secataro (Cañoncito Navajo) Shawn L. Secatero, Ph.D. is a member of the Water's Edge people and born for the Latino clan. Shawn received his Ph.D. in 2009 from the University of New Mexico and graduated with distinction after completing his dissertation study Beneath Our Sacred Minds, Hands, and Hearts: Stories of Persistence and Success Among American Indian Graduate and Professional Students. He has worked as a secondary language arts teacher, bilingual program coordinator, youth opportunity program director, and coordinator of student services at the American Indian Graduate Center Gates Millennium Scholars. Dr. Secatero continues his service as a researcher and has established the Striking Eagle Well Being Project to address higher education retention efforts. He serves as an adjunct professor at the University of New Mexico. He conducts workshops and seminars using his well-being model designed to empower individuals and assist educational programs with life-long learning endeavors at local, state, and international levels. He continues to work as an American Indian cultural consultant for various programs and institutions. Dr. Secatero serves as a board member for the Indigenous Elders of America, Canoncito Band of Navajos 12-member traditional council, and is currently president and CEO of Source for Educational Empowerment and Development (SEED) Institute which is a non-profit organization seeking to bridge Indigenous knowledge with Western ways of knowing.

[IOW, a teacher and researcher. This reads like his resume for a job hunt.]

Grandfather Brad Stanton (Narragansett) from Rhode Island...a veteran of the US Marine Corps serving during the Vietnam era. He is a Silver Cloud Elder, and a retired (28 years) offshore North Atlantic lobster fisherman...Brad is the owner and CEO of Chiefmoon Consulting, where he works with tribes in the United Southern and Eastern Conference assisting them with affordable housing and economic development.

[A retired fisherman who has done good work. Like two others above, I wonder if he just doesn't know he's listed alongside some obvious frauds.]

Grandfather James Uqualla (Havasupai)

[One of our European members asked me to start a research thread on Uqualla. He does seem to be Havasupai, but an obvious exploiter.]

Grandfather Woody Vaspra(Hawai'ian) In his capacity as Co-founder, President and Elder Liaison for the World Council of Elders, Woody has traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Central and South America and Australia meeting with traditional indigenous wisdom-carriers of many, many native cultures. As a native Hawaiian, Woody is readily accepted by members of other indigenous communities, and is especially qualified and uniquely suited to work with them toward WCOE’s goal of creating a worldwide organization of traditional indigenous wisdom-keepers and spiritual leaders....Woody was selected by Lakota Elders to be the Leader of the International Sundance that is being held around the world to bring the peoples of the four directions together.

[Another one determined to pack as many lies as possible into one paragraph. NOT Hawaiian, not a leader of any authentic organization. See our threads on him under Frauds.]

 Grandfather Brian Wilkes (Cherokee-Creek descendant)...

[We have a thread on him.]

Grandfather Keya Wright (Cherokee) Keya Wright, Mani Wakan Wicasa Keya (Walks Holy Turtle Man) is Cherokee and Portuguese, raised with the Narragansett tribe in Rhode Island. His father (Cherokee) was "the last free man" as Keya says. When Keya was a child the Elders chose him as a vessel in which they could pour their knowledge and wisdom. Thanks to his blue eyes and fair complexion, Keya walked in two worlds; the world of the white man and the world of Native Americans, which greatly enhanced his understanding of the reality.

[What the...? :o Blue eyes gives you better understanding? A Cherokee raised by Narragansetts and "chosen as a vessel"?
And nice and condescending of you to claim no Cherokee today are free.]

...For thirty years he was a navigator and a fisherman...For twenty years he was a union representative for AFSCME in Rhode Island as well justice of the peace for five years before he retired in 1999. He is a veteran of war, having served four years in the US Navy (1963-1967). He also marched with Martin Luther King in the civil rights movement.

[Except for having an ego the size of a mountain, not a bad person. Again, why work with frauds?]

Grandfather Maka'ala Yates, D.C. (Hawai'ian)Maka'ala is a Kanaka Maoli (descendant of the Original Polynesians) born and raised in Honaunau, Kona, Hawaii at "Pu'uhonua O Honaunau." His training in the healing arts started at the age of 6 and this year he is 63 years young and still learning. His Hawaiian lineage goes back to the Kekapahaukea and Kipapa line where traditional healing was an essential and successful part of life without modern healthcare systems. He is a Vietnam veteran, played professional tennis and brought back the traditional Hale Pulo'ulo'u (Hawaiian sweats or "House of Purification"). He presently travels around the world teaching his heritage of Hawaiian healing methods including Mana Lomi® (a specific form of lomilomi that focuses on problem solving physical maladies), fasting and ho'oponopono...In 2005 he received the "Kaonohi Award," the highest award for excellence in traditional healing practices and community support. He is the author of a nearly finished book called, "Ancient Hawaiian Principles of Being Well." Maka'ala is the Minister of Health for the Polynesian Kingdom of Atooi (PKOA) coming up with solutions to help people break the blueprint from diseases.

[More research needed.]

-----------
So that's at least seven dubious characters, one white guy included just because he's done Sundances, a teacher, a couple fishermen, and some unknowns.
The sponsors of this group are trying to give the impression that these are traditional healers. This seems like an imitation of the 13 Grandmothers, a mix of bad ones mixed with others who don't know they're mixed in with the bad ones.

And Europeans take note: They're coming your way. It doesn't take much to see why they're not doing this in the US.

Teaching Circles In Europe, 2011
Planning is underway for the Grandmothers to conduct teaching and healing circles in several European cities this year. Several of the Grandfathers will accompany them to present additional perspective.

Well, he claims Cherokee, raised by the Narragansett ---- and goes by a *Lakota* name.
His ndn claim seems to get around quite a bit, doesn't it?

Grandfather James Uqualla (Havasupai)
[One of our European members asked me to start a research thread on Uqualla. He does seem to be Havasupai, but an obvious exploiter.]

James Uqualla has a thread since 2014: http://www.newagefraud.org/smf/index.php?topic=4271.0
